5800x bottleneck for 5070 ti

40% GPU usage doesn't sound right, on a graphically demanding game like BF I'd expect even the best of cards to be running at 80%+ usage when playing.

Driver issue?

I thought it was the CPU bottleneck causing that. Battlefield V seems to be the worst right now in regards of low GPU usage.

I've just been reading a thread on Reddit where a lot of people were complaining of low GPU utilisation. The consensus was that last December was the last of the decent drivers.
I would have thought the 5800X would be plenty to drive Battlefield 5.

I just need Battlefield 6 to come out already, I'm so anxious waiting. The 5800x is either going to fine or I'm going to be completely depressed because I can't afford new upgrades lol.

The problem with BFV directX12 is unplayable, perma mini stutters so I can't even try out the dlss option. But yeah, the game runs fine but on specific maps the fps drops are horrible, it's the worst feeling.

You'll find out friday. Hope it works out fine for you!

My cpu hits up to high 50s usage in bf5 and gpu is 99/100% most the time, i did notice the cpu hit 60% usage at one point, havent constantly got my eyes looking at the stats though when playing, battlefield games always hit the cpu quite hard.

Game @1440p ultra settings except undergrowth on medium, dx11 as well, get around 175fps on these settings although it can go up or down a bit depending whats happening and the map.

also, i was told to enable PBO in bios and I did. I can't figure out if it actually did anything or not, I did some benchmarks for CPU and I'm getting this type of result, which is below average? Now I'm concerned whether or not something is wrong with my system. https://valid.x86.fr/c9fe9h
I though just enabling pbo would do something but it turns out there is more things I need to do but I'm too afraid to do it.

Then something is wrong my end? When I play ultra my GPU reaches 60% at most but I get around 130 fps. Does the 5800x3d really make that much of a difference from the 5800x?

As said above, get 3d mark installed and run a benchmark, it has results from other people using the same hardware so you can see if something isn't running properly.

Would do as others have said and try running 3d mark, but something dosnt seem right as i would expect you to get more fps than me with a 5070ti, there is a difference between both cpus though.

Maybe check out the 5800x3d thread on here as a lot of people went from 5800x to the 5800x3d, think i did also but cant remember.

I upgraded my wife's PC at the weekend. She had a 5800X3D and a 6900XTU. Went to a 9800X3D and 9070XT. It's nice to have stuff like NVME Gen 5, DDR5 and 2.5gb LAN. The actual performance uplift was decent and what I expected, 1% lows are very strong.

However, objectively the 5800X3D was very capable so if you want to stay on AM4 I reckon it'll be good for a good couple more years. Prior to her 5800X3D she had a 5600X and that upgrade was very noticeable.

Have you run Cinebench and some 3dMark tests to compare over all system stats and how they compare to similar builds?

I did a 3D mark benchmark soon as I installed the 5070 ti last week. My score seemed to be completely fine.

Fairly comparable to my system with a 5700X and RX 9070 XT (similar performance to 5070 TI I think)

Do you overclock? Because realistically my score should be a few percentage higher than your due to different hardware right? mine is below yours. should i be concerned? not entirely sure how the scores work but i know people overclock which shows people with same rig and higher score

Yes I think that one has a slight overclock on it but it still shows yours is running as expected. Your CPU score is a tad higher than mine which is to be expected too.
