——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Did CDKeys (or loaded as they're calling themselves now!) every have the steam codes for the phantom edition? I've never seen them go on, so I can't tell if they actually sold out or still haven't made it available yet? It's almost £20 cheaper on there.

I'm going to hold on till Friday and see if they drop as it's a saving...

Resisting the urge to preorder this. Can't bear spending 60+ on a game.
Me too, I've been a fan of Battlefield since the BC2 days and it's only gone downhill since. The only reason I bought the releases since BF4 was peer pressure from the group of mates I game with. I really miss those days where you could hit up some clan's BF server and play all evening on a friendly welcoming server with active admins. No nonsense and any suspect players with huge k/d ratios were quickly dealt with and banned. Teams would be balanced if it became too one-sided and players could vote on which would be the next map.

I know why EA got rid of all this from the franchise but in my mind, this is what made it stand apart from COD and other FPS. Now it is just another console FPS, pleasing the masses who just want to jump in for a quick game and get the self-gratification of killing as many players from the other side in as short a space of time as possible.

I just can't bear to give them £60 when I hate what they have done with it soooooo much, but two of my mates have already purchased (one phantom edition and the other standard).

Nope, they never had stock of either edition.

Also, Phantom Edition is a scam, I'm very surprised it's so popular.

Decided to preorder this on Origin, just the standard edition as don't think I'll complete the battle passes. Having been somewhat singed with 2142 I'm hoping this is the return to form I've been looking for, I put a lot of hours into BF3/4 and hoping to have similar fun with this one.

Did you play the beta? I loved BF3 and 4 but thought the BF6 beta was average at best. Too many design decisions steering it away from Battlefield and more towards COD. Dice have made improvements since the beta according to labs tests and leaks/announcements but I'm not buying without trying or atleast waiting on proper feedback after release.

@SpudMaster I hadn't, so going in blind other than the numerous videos that have been posted. I may not have played BF2142 as much as BF3/4 but I still got my monies worth from it, I imagine it will be the same with BF6, until recently I often used to buy CoD just for the campaigns as they were so cinematic it's only with more recent offerings I've started MP in those games.

Might grab a disc copy for the PS5 on Friday morning from Argos to play in the daytime if servers are going to be up!

I haven't been paying attention to any of the BF6, any idea of the map design is good? What monetization awaits us?

If you got your money's worth out of 2142 then you'll be fine with BF6, it's better than that. Beta was enough to know 2142 was awful

The maps are pretty bad imo. Atleast the maps featured in the beta. Think more link COD with vehicles :-(

The release does feature larger maps but they do still seem to be smaller than the “all out warfare“ sized maps of previous BF games.

It seems the devs doubled down the the community's complaints about the maps being too big in 2142 and decided to go much small with BF6. When if they were competent BF devs theyd had realised that the issue was the maps were just bad in 2142 and not necessarily too big but too baren and sterile.

That's a shame I really enjoyed the bf2 maps, as thier was fighting all over not just on the flag and big empty spaces like the last bf. I will wait a few months to see how the game is then before buying.

I'm sure I read that the phantom edition will be avilable to buy at anytime after game release so no real point pre-ordering that version.

Holding out until Thursday evening for CD Keys to have it in stock then will buy on Steam if it's not.
