Hi,

My old Panasonic 800w microwave probably should have been replaced a long time ago,
but now it's started to occasionally cut out when cooking, and part of the black interior doesn't look too clever either.

I don't know whether to try one of these dual function ones which combine an air-fryer as well.

I've no set budget but don't see the point of paying extra if the benefit is marginal.

Any opinions or user experiences welcome! :)

My requirements are always Inductor model plus flatbed. Got a top end Panasonic at the minute with oven and grill in it as well very handy for small meals.

Was given a panasonic combi microwave it's great when doing pies and jackets

My suggestions would be:

Inverter type turntable-less, because it makes it much easier to clean.

Avoid a 'combi' one unless you're actually going to use it as a grill or oven, because the elements hanging from the top of them make it much harder to clean - and I swear they sharpen the brackets for them.

I would also tend to avoid ones with a dial to select the time, because they're always really annoying when they don't register changes because you've spun the dial too quickly.

These are all just based on things that have annoyed me about microwaves in the past.

Years ago I had a really nice samsung microwave, that also had a grill and oven function included. It got used for three things, toasting something I only wanted one side toasted, baked beans and baked potatoes. It did make excellent baked potatoes in 24mins using the microwave and oven in combination that were as good as 90 mins in a normal oven, but it was massive and so I got rid when I redid the kitchen.

Now my cheap £50 microwave just does beans (and the occasional sweetcorn) but takes up way less space.

Do you happen to know the exact model name/number so I could take a gander? Cheers.

I need a new one, just noticed my wi fi stops working every time the microwave is on! It is several years old now though.

I'd love an inverter one, but can't justify the cost, maybe when my trusty old boy dies.
Certainly not cheap, but if this one lasts as long as my old one it will work out at £20 a year, and as we batch cook we use a microwave a lot.
