——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Guess there won't be another movie then

Still amazed at how smooth/well it runs. Frostbite engine is something else, even compared to other engines that don't have RT.

If you have the Phantom edition on the EA app and tried to access on launch, you will now get both Season 1&2 battlepasses from the email I just received.

Graphically, other areas of the engine code are pretty bad, I've not seen it myself but I was talking to someone recently who has worked with the engine on non-Dice/Battlefield products and they said areas like utility code they spent more time writing silly memes in the comments and jerking each other off than writing good code (their claim not mine).

I forgot how satisfying it is blowing tanks up. It doesn't always work out but when it does, very, very satisfying. Just dropped a few mines behind one and he reversed up. I then got a text from my partner asking "was that weird noise just then you?"

Yes. Yes it was :D
That was also me when I saw the explosion and all points appeared like yay eat my rocket you filfthy animal!

BF6 runs well because it looks like a higher resolution PS4 game

So does Call of Duty games

Often looks like a step back from BF4 for me aside from some effects. Though I tend to play these kind of games with a mixture of low to ultra settings depending on best FPS and clearest view anyhow.

Honestly it's the main reason I play Battlefield lol. Blowing helicopters out the sky with RPG's is even better.

Yea i feel modern graphics havent improved much in the last 10 years, little things yes, like textures, particle effects, facial animations, but other than that i don't see a massive leap from say battlefield 3 and 4

I'm a little disappointed in BF6's graphics if I'm really honest. The interiors especially look really dated. Overall it looks fine but feels weirdly held back.

Really enjoying this after the mess that was 2042. A few niggles my friends also share:
- I'm constantly getting one hit killed by mines, every single time I ever get in a vehicle. Doesn't matter which route I seem to go. They seem really overpowered? Unless I'm driving over a cluster? Either way it's causing me not to bother with vehicles.
- The shotgun is annoying to deal with. I don't really play as assault but having people play with a very capable assault rifle then pull out a one hit kill shotgun for building work is frustrating. It feels like they're very well setup for everything but long range work. I get their assault but what was wrong with one primary?
- The map Mirak Valley is disgusting in Breakthrough. I've played this about 5 times as attackers and never even got the first objective. The terrain favours the defenders far too much in my opinion. When I've played as defenders, both times we won without losing any objectives. Everyone is new to this map so ability unlocks and a more mature strategy might help even it out?

Is this anything like that days of bf2142? I remember being able to play the whole match and mahne die 3/4 times as a sniper in a great spot.

I wish to play a game like that again, where the gameplay is slower and not just run and who can shoot/jump/slide/bounce the quickest

I mean not to sound funny that’s how a mine should work? It should blow up a tank, keep etc.

Shotgun I get it’s not as powerful as it was in the beta as it would kill from other side of map but does still seem abit too strong even at medium distance.

Up close though should def be one hit kill

Just played a round using the shotgun - felt like cheating, nearly always a 1 shot kill and doesn't burn through your ammo like an assult rifle does either. I think the quite small confined city maps make all the engagemants quite close, really makes the shotgun a preferable weapon.

Are the assult rifles too weak - I seem to lose out at distance to SMG's (strangely) and up close to shotguns.

Same issue as some have mentioned, using SMG/Rifle I'm always one shot killed. Switched to shotgun (im sure the last time I used a shotgun in online play was quake 3 arena) and K/D balance much better. The speed of gameplay at first annoyed me but seems abit better now.

I think it's ace, I mean my 4 year old mid range CPU is still kicking out high frames without a single bogging out all whilst the CPU utilisation is so high vs other engines bog out at half the CPU utilisation lol.

Look at this gameplay I recorded last night:

Does anyone know how to turn off the lean or peak white icons which pop up when you're leaning or peaking over an edge? They're utterly pointless and I want to remove them as it's just clutter.
