Rocket Lab popping, up 10% from Fridays silliness.

I saw that and it's got me wondering how fast T212 executes pre-market pending orders on market opening. As I hit my SL overnight on my CFD account so have nothing invested - normally I'd just reinvest it back in to gold or silver. I'm tempted though to put a buy order in for Rocket labs as it could be a quick 5-10% at market opening but not sure it's worth the risk that T212 could execute too slow and buy after the opening spike.

as i understand it from an article i read see below, china is mass producing to meet targets not demand so over producing and cant sell them
That’s not usual for China in all parts of manufacturing. They have a big excess of capacity.

to be fair there are a lot of EVs were they are not making the money they should be, either because costs are coming from subscription or services.
look at Tesla were everything is through them and they can charge what they want.
also my previous article about China cars also is a good indication, were its government funded.

also i thought this was interesting article :

so points out the the company went bankrupt.

not every company is making money from EVs for one reason or other.
even the big car names are scaling back EV productions, as fuel cars continue to be used.

edit to add : https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/electric-cars/choosing/road-to-electric/ & https://www.carscoops.com/2025/03/o...=51-,by Brad Anderson,are a bit less expected.

has an interesting chart
and ive read multiple articles about the decrease in purchase of EVs. looking at the costs (depending were you are you can buy a house for the same price!), they are to costly for most people in comparison to fuel cars (especially considering 2nd hand market).
the 2nd hand market needs to get established first i think, and thats probably a good 5years away minimum. then you have the question of how reliable they will be in old age which is a bit unknown unlike cars were there is better data to pull from.

based on that i don't wholly disagree with @Nasher
there is still a ways for the EV s to go before they become established fully, that include the tech like batteries, motors, AI ect.
with the economic uncertainty also wont be helping to push EV sales.

EV is a loss leader for China apparently, if they export it disrupts every competitor globally. China swamping markets with cheap steel is an old game well known, its a way to corner the market that works apparently so something like that is happening for EV. Its destructive for the companies themselves but China wants this as a key industry so its their policy. Along with rare earths and gold, they have dominated those for a long time

China
• ~70% of global rare earth mining
• ~85% of refining capacity
• ~90% of magnet production

JPMorgan Chase will take stakes in companies of up to a total of $10bn to help fund growth in areas it deems critical to US security, the latest sign of Donald Trump’s 'America First' policies being adopted by big business.

They'll have lots of government money pushing it. But we aren't allowed to do that under EU rules, so we're ******.

Thinking of bailing on GME.

Bought a ton of shares to get the warrants, but the value has since dropped and he warrants are worth **** all. I'm currently down £230 on this stock. The age-old question - hold or sell?

Hmmmm.

£230 down isnt much. Unless you invested £240.

Why did you buy this stock, what was the investment case?

I'm not following GME closely. However, looking at the share price, there was a big fall in June, and then it was flat, then showed it was capable of a 10% gain. So, selling now would be bad timing.

Is there a market for those warrants somewhere? Can you sell them?
