BMW and M Power Owners

That seems quite high as an individual price for those services. What year is the car - don't forget that once its out of its original warranty the servicing is cheaper, so if you're getting quotes on a car thats quite new they won't be accurate because they won't include the discount you'll get for the second service.

I had the major service on my M340i and it was about £600, brake fluid is about £115.

I've just checked the service plan pricing again and have compared it with the individual cost of the same services and it's actually a useful saving now - it works out at about 15% cheaper before accounting for any price rises in the servicing cost by the time we get to 2028 when the last one is due. I'm therefore considering it now.

It looks ok when the clean it i guess, but if you have detailed your car yourself, i would like to know how they are actually cleaning customers cars

are they doing a handwash ? is it a contactless jetwash clean with two bucket microfibre ?

has anyone actually seen them wash behind the scenes?
When they could have up to a dozen cars to wash daily, how much time and care do you think they take?

I would like to think they take pride in their cars, i honestly dont know.
Dealer car cleaning seems to be sub-co'd out to whatever local car wash company is the cheapest in my experience. VW and BMW around here are terrible, the wife's Tiguan looked like it had been cleaned with dirty water. I never let dealers wash it, they're as bad as local scratch and shine places. I haven't let BMW wash any of my cars for at least 5 years, I do it myself or get my detailer to do it if I'm being lazy.

I went for it, as it spreads the cost too. Glad I flagged that the prices were a bit better if it helps others save a bit of money.

£520 for 3 years/60k miles for my M340i, hmmm that's not too bad?

If the car hasn't yet had its first service you get access to a different product, which is typically quite good, however, make sure you do the maths on it because unless you do high mileage you probably won't need more than the standard cheaper service and a brake fluid change in the first 3 years.

It did, thanks. I've never found it worth doing before so was surprised to see the saving!

Yeh not had a service yet, averaging 6-7000 miles per year I reckon

I should've bought a service pack at Christmas when they were on offer. Not looking forward to the big service on the M2 next month :(

How much is a big service on the M2?

I'm starting to feel super grateful my M3 has a 5 year service plan, courtesy of the previous owner. I didn't even know until I went to book my brake fluid change recently.

Not sure of UK pricing, but I expect somewhere in the region of £800 or so?

It's a lession to teach people to work on their own car :P
That’s not quite what you said first time around.

Just to buy the discs it’s £950 the pair. I’m guessing the pads will be another hundred plus. So that’s over a grand even if you do it yourself.

You buy the car and I get you need to be prepared to pony up for the maintenance, but my old C63 and even the F80 wasn’t this silly.

I’ve got another 30k+ miles before I’ll need new discs n pads. Think they’re gonna be really slow, gentle miles lol.

It means the same thing though, whether I reworded it or not ;) :)

Yeah, still quite the saving isn't it, for 5 minutes work if that per side once jacked up :)

BMW + Gentle, are 2 words you don't normally hear in the same sentence :D

Hi all

Those who have models that use ad blue. Do you typically top up well before it runs out or as it runs out?

Mine has taken a while to be used up, I have covered around 8k miles I think and at the moment the I drive is showing range 2500 miles left before refil needed and top up 15litres

I have noticed recently more diesel dust on the back of my car .so probably worth topping up sooner rather than leave it ?
