Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

I will power through, but it just feels wrong. Greedy ******* devs is what it is. Needed to be 1 game. Not 3.

Yeah and utterly cringe dialogue and yeah they really ruined a lot for me. Will still finish it but overall the whole remake has not done it for me so far.

I love what they've done so we're at odds there, at least within the main narrative.

Just can't love it. I really loved the OG. But making me do the crap required in Costa del Sol is almost unforgivable.

I guess how I feel is partly to do with what little game time I get. Spending ages doing stupid **** required in Costa del Sol is frustrating.

Managed to finish of the beach fight at least, so hopefully that's that done. I am dreading the gold saucer now. Hopefully it is done well.

Don't force yourself to carry on if you aren't enjoying it. As you say, time is limited and there's plenty other games you could be spending your time on. I have zero regrets walking away from Rebirth ... the one positive I can take away from my time with it is that I won't be wasting money on buying part 3 whenever it's released.

I loved the Gold Saucer section, there was a lot of fanservice and things I thought were fun.

Honestly, if you're not enjoying it don't torture yourself mate, if you're on the fence push through to the Gold Saucer/Dyne storyline part and carry on or quit depending.

I hated the game by the end of the first playthrough and then ended up playing it for another 100 hours :p

My advice is to basically ignore the open world stuff. Do a bit as you pass them while going through the main story so you can grab some of the better materia from Chadley but it's not important to do all the side content first time through.

Thing is, I am enjoying it enough to continue apart from all this forced filler stuff.

I will still get the 3rd one, but will be on deep discount i think. Unless I don't have any other games I fancy playing at the time, which is unlikely.

What i can say is I am unlikely to replay these remake games until I retire or something. If I ever fancy playing ff7, it will be a highly modded og version which is a much better game imo.

Going to push through man :D

Definitely ignoring open world stuff. I only did it all on the first map. But no more. I ignore chadly too for the most part. I have put the him/her ai thingy on silent on the controller. I go to him now and then, that's it.

This also pushed me through.

I actually really enjoyed the side quests & filler. But I also have very limited playtime, a backlog, and really wanted to do the story. So after 100%ing the first 2 areas, I did a lot less and finished the game.

However, I do know I'll be back and play it all again and do all the side stuff.

I did the same with Remake, Eiyuden Chronicles, Pilars of Eternity, Divinity etc. I've effectively tried to remove the FOMO from doing everything first time. Thinking back, I never 100%ed FF7/8/9/X, Suikoden 1/2 etc first playthrough. Always came back for it. And I still replay those games now.

What made them design such a character. They could have done so much better with that.

Imagine if you lost the plot and the voice in your head was Chadley? You even started hallucinating a little pop up screen of him in the corner of your vision.

I enjoyed Rebirth though didn't bother with a lot of the sidequest fluff (still 80+hours according to steam!) - Remake was better imo despite the motorbike dude :p

The Barrel was one of the worst, most boring levels in any game I think I've ever played.

I do wonder just how much the Chadley annoyance was intentional. I mean, it's not like much else is a lost in translation issue, or a nuanced thing for a small subset of players.

No coverage is bad coverage.... Safestyle Uk Windows anyone?
