Cadwell Park on Sunday. Gorgeous day and really enjoyed the track.

Donington Park yesterday was not quite so sunny! First time I've done back to back track days and the car held up well, no issues. Thinking about selling the car over winter as I am not sure I am doing enough track days to justify a track car.

I've ordered the Cadwell pic in a print so I can put it on the wall in my office.

I've had it since Easter. It's been to the Ring, Anglesey, Cadwell and 4 trips to Donington. It's a fantastic track car, especially on AR1 tyres. It's on BC coilovers, has solid engine mounts and bushes, half cage, stripped interior etc so it's not so pleasant on the road.

Posted about this car a few weeks ago. Went to see it in person and it was absolutely stunning. full service history, loads of receipts for everything, had a brand new set of michelin pilot sport 4s all round in the last 9 months or so, appears to have been very well looked after by it's last owner. No signs of any rust or corrosion.

It's not standard, i've got some receipts for some wheel spacers which have improved the stance, and it's got the aftermarket side window stick on grill things (unsure about these) and it's got an afetermarket exhaust. But it's a shadow edition so the rest (such as the blacked out badge, wheels etc..) is factory.

I took it for a drive out last weekend and stopped by the emley moor transmitter.

Heres a quick little vid of the startup

Interesting that it's a late 2018 / early 2019 and yet is a pre-facelift.

It's a September 2018 car so one of the last pre facelift I think considering there are plenty of facelift 18 plate cars on the market.

I was in two minds about whether to try and find a facelift one as I do prefer the styling and would have liked the digital dash. But this came up near me in good condition, crucially with a manual, and in the right colour and and at a good price.

Also, there's no yellow or orange facelift cars in a manual for sale in the UK right now, i've been watching for a few months and only seen one come up within my budget but got sold before I got to it so didn't want to spend forever looking for a facelift. There was also a mach 1 for sale but that was £50k so well out of my price range.

There's very little difference between facelift and pre-facelift really. I wanted the facelift because of the active exhaust mainly. I want loud but don't want to annoy the neighbours. Timed quiet-start is really rather good.

The biggest difference to facelift from a dynamic point of view is the magnetic suspension option really does improve the handling and body control a lot. Other than this it’s not much the LCD dash in facelifts is very cool but prefer the analogue retro dials of the pre facelift.

Out of S550/S650 generation cars I’d say the Bullit is the best of them all as Ford got that car so right. Not that keen on the new S650 cars which is just a facelift S550 as same chassis but I’d not say no to a GTD but it’s daft money for a Mustang even if it can rival a GT3 RS, I’d still take latter but even then I’d not want one of those as they are a useless road car, previous gen GT3’s are far better to live with.
