Advanced defending + Bruiser playstyle with the new update.
I'm going to give that a go. I have been using 4213.
Is anyone using Advanced defending? I thought it was always tactical

Lots of people use tactical as well, but with advanced you can tap the a/x button when side to side to win the ball back, physically shove them out the way. Tactical is just contextual to the situation as they describe it in settings I think. Advanced is just more control on what type of tackle you want to perform.

From what I have read and watched it adds more complexity and hassle for not a lot of gain.

That was the case until the latest update, now it works as intended.

I was referring to previous iterations of Fifa/EA Fc as well - for me its not worth the extra thing to remember.

Haha, probably because people always took offence to whatever name I was called. I have a stupid name now, I'll add you
I thought I’d sussed this game out. 10 wins in weekend league, up to division 4 in rivals then they released this patch, ive got annihilated in 5 games in rivals. The changes they’ve made aren’t game breaking so no idea why I can’t play anymore.
I had the exact same situation when I was playing last night. Each game was close but I just kept losing. FIFA’s always been weird like that for me. Kick off goals are doing my head in as well, like every year.
That's supposedly fixed as of today

Kick off goals haven been fixed and AI defending is slightly better . Nothing that major has changed, usual YouTubers trying to get clicks with extreme views.
Something else has changed though as my 95 depth tactics doesn't seem to work as well now

Yeah, it's mental the reaction any patch gets, then everyone jumps on the bandwagon. For casual players, i.e., those not playing 8 hours a day for their job, the changes are good. Defending was a joke before.
This is my thoughts exactly. I even did 5 games in Rivals too. Only one of them was close.
Had more success last night, manual defending is actually doable again, so that's made a difference.
I feel I'm going to have to change something because overnight I've completely lost the knack of winning.
