Hot garbage then? Who would’ve thunk it.
Far from it actually.
Gunplay is superb, graphics and sounds also top tier, gameplay is great, zero cheater in my 40+ hours.
No the maps are not as big as old school, maps but lets be honest here some of them were pointlessly huge.
I really dont get what there is in there say its hot garbage.
No its not perfect but what game is?

Weakest part of the game are maps but in fairness there is only 2 from those that came at launch that i just filter out in custom search and never have to play them.

There are two maps i dont filter out [the ones with a small cluster of half constructed buildings in the middle of the map that is too CQC for my liking] i simly dont go near the buildings and play on the outskirts where there are plenty more capture points to fight over in conquest and escalation mode.

Also there is little to no teamwork but if im being honest and take off my blinkers it wasnt much better in the golden era of BF3,BF4 and BC2.

I agree with that for the most part.
I dont even mind the map size, I think it works quite well. Not keen on the NYC maps, and will skip if not in the mood. I too tend to avoid congested areas, leaning more towards playing the periphery and attempting to block off flanking manoeuvres and dealing with tanks/IFV's that just love to sit at the edge of the maps.
I think the biggest issue at the moment... Well there is two actually for me. Only one Dice can really do something about though, that being the inconsistency with hitreg. The other being how the player base actually play the game.
I thought there was some correlation with the time of day, player load on servers etc. However, it still dosnt seem to add up, its still feels very much potluck. I really hope its addressed properly in the upcoming S1 update. Though I'm not exactly confident it will be.

As far as teamwork goes. I think the old rose tinted spectacles are in play for a lot of us.

is there a known bug where you can select phantom upgrade weapons/skins? Yesterday I had a selectable sniper. A skinned silenced version of the first sniper gun. I played a a few rounds and it was fun but I can’t select it now but it’s not locked?

Thing is though if you look at older Battlefield games ~60% of players are playing stuff like (BF4 for example) 24x7 Lockers or Metro Conquest Large, ~20% are playing smaller city type maps often the smaller TDM walled version but with vehicles and higher player numbers, ~5% are doing weird vehicle servers or similar unlock servers with low player numbers and ~15% are playing actual Battlefield large maps with traditional Battlefield rules, etc. which probably directs the developer direction even though that isn't necessarily what Battlefield players want - a common complaint is that the mechanics and map layouts don't encourage team play and they get bored of running around objectives where the opposing teams are often chasing each other's tail rather than engaging and just settle for close quarter slaughterfests instead.
enjoying breakthrough with friends but then our bc2 server was 24/7 rush

I do think all the current maps are slightly to small and firestorm would massively benefit with more cover in the wilderness alongside D and a rejig

thought the original map was hot garbage so ;) much prefer a decent infantry map with the odd vehicle thrown in

was on discord with a friend he started to complain about a cheater and a few minutes later they got live kicked and banned during the match

he later said he has seen 3 other people during the week all get live banned with an announcement

Anachronistic skins are an inevitably imo, just look at how much money wild skins generate for CoD etc, huge amounts of moolah. EA arent going to turn away that amount of dosh. I'd imagine skins will start out reasonable but get more and more wild (its the same pattern we've seen in other games where initially skins were "sensible" to the game setting)

This is what I am worried about, I hope it's not the start of them going down that route.
