managed to fit the mirror extension bracket, the lower part could be removed so once that came off the 10mm bolt supplied fitted into that through the extension then the thread adapter fitter into the extension then mirror onto the thread adapter.

So I didn't need anything else.

OK went and looked at a pair of GSX-S125's today and we settled on a Black and gold one, 2018, 10k miles, 1 owner from new, full service history, full years MOT just refreshed with no advisories. £2,795. Daughter fits on it very comfortably so thats a big hurdle overcome.

Insurance obtained through Hastings for £370 full comp including gear cover. Considering most other quotes were £1k mark with crazy excesses this one seemed actually sensible.

Next up to finalise delivery of the bike, oh and buy all the riding gear before we ride it. - Open to helmet, jacket, gloves recommendations.

Very cool. I presume you are looking for riding gear for your daughter.

Posting a link from Infinity Motorcycles as an example who have some gear on sale. I would recommend however to visit any Motorcycle gear shop and try the clothing and helmets before purchase. The likes of Sportsbike shop for example.

We do have a Sportsbikeshop locally which is helpful. We will be both gearing up 100% before getting on.

Remember with Sportsbikeshop you can and should order several sizes/options into the store then go try em all on and buy the one that fits. I did this recently for a hat and some gloves. Much less risky than just turning up as they often don't have that much variety in a specific store.

Reading store is my local. Not the worst place, and when my Oxford CE Level 2 glove thumb came unstitched after 6 months (and 8k miles) they sent me a new pair without a quibble.

Helmet
Gloves, summer/winter (waterproof)
Leather or textile jacket/trousers
close fit Leggings/top
Boots . I went with racing boots, probably OTT for a scooter :D but at least full protection. Go for waterproof
Rotor lock with remember cable
Chain lock and anchor
Sat nav holder
Tank bag/tunnel bag/top box
Bike shed
Bike cover
Waterproof jacket/trouser overcover if you wear leathers in heavy rain (I have some pushbike stuff that is ok)

I would recommend helmet with drop down sun visor, and pinlock. Also compare full face versus flip up.

I bought this rack plate, does this mean I have to get (expensive) Givvi top boxes?

I tried another brand (can't remember) and only two holes lined up

I think some Kappa cases will work, but check their description says monolock compatible.

I feel like this is the kind of question you should be asking before you buy the rack.

Dumbass :D

@Syla5 that's awesome, excellent news. The Suzukis are also one of the top-tier 125s so should hold its value well. Also, the best power to weight ratio of any 125 when they came out, as Suzuki was in pains to tell everyone.

Conveniently forgetting the limitation on power and weight on 125s ofc :p

You'd think rack plates would be universal.

She’s not much but she’s ours.

Got delivered on Saturday and we got out to do some practice yesterday.

Daughter went got comfortable changing gears and finding some speed and doing laps around the car park. More of the same to follow on as we find time and clear weather. She also found her own cheat way to get on, using the footpeg as a boost up! She’s not that short but in all the gear she’s a little restricted with getting that leg over.

A useful skill is being able to use that method to get on & off the bike from the "wrong" side. It's not only a way of getting out of sticky parking situations but also develops confidence in handling the bike.

Also, I may be wrong, but its that front tyre on the right way around? I'm sure the V pattern is supposed to go the other way on the front wheel.

Screaming Tangerine dropped off at a local tuning company for a full ecu flash, change a few parameters and a full dyno tune. Should get some decent gains with the pipe, resonator box delete and K&N filter. Pick her up on Friday. These guys have a very good reputation. Happy days!! Was a steady ride in though - cold, wind & rain and Diablo Rosso 4 Corsa tyres are fun combo!!
