Halo : Campaign Evolved (2026)

I'm in. Was thinking about replaying Halo only the other day so will deffo give this a go. I just hope they don't **** it up with UE5.

Tbh, when it popped up on my feed, I thought this was a community project.

It doesn't even make sense from a business prospective. Nostalgia will only carry it so far. Look at elder scrolls oblivion remake- it's dead only a few months from release - a whopping 3k players 24 hours peak.

Good reason the put Halo on the PS5 make much business sense.

hmmm. glad for those happy to see it however in a way it sums up how much less we get for our money these days
I enjoyed halo (library levels not withstanding) but the fact this is just a remake of the old game so essentially they don't have to worry about level design , and the online component was a huge part of the halo experience.

if it was gonna be a £24.99 budget release I would understand but I am guessing it will be a "premium" title with a premium price tag to accompany it.

that said. visually it looks pretty!

I don't understand the hate for UE5, as if Halo Infinte was an graphical phenomenon when it came out in 2021

Makes business sense to use Unreal Engine as they won't have to worry about finding developers with experience for future releases and multi platform development.

arc raiders proves that with the right people behind the game, UE5 can be a very good engine with zero stutter + very nice visuals!

Looks quite good graphically, will defo run like poop i expect, is it literally campaign and coop only? no tdm? as wouldnt be a buy from me i think without tdm.

I'm all for this!
I know it's UE5, but when a game is that good and remade to look brand new, and plays like the original/better, I just bite my tounge - Silent Hill 2 Remake, is a perfect example, it's worth the BS, and you quickly don't care when it feels that nostalgic/muscle memory.
Having said that, MGS Delta, proven that you can make a UE5 game without stutters, that doesn't crash, I completed it in one sitting, zero issues.
I'll definitely be getting this!

Not sure how I feel about this honestly.

I do love a good remake, but is this really necessary? And like others have said a lot of this games success will depend on the pricing. If they go full price £70 then I can't see it doing particularly well.

I posted this in the MGS Delta thread on release with all my settings in screenshots.
I don't use overclocked controllers, but did try it with my PS5 controller, and that introduced stuttering and FPS spikes.
I also don't record gameplay, nor have loads of tat running in the background, so there is definitely something in that.
I've no reason to lie, I was very open above about SH2R's stutters and any other UE5 game that I've played.

One thing I did wonder, was whether it's due to the fact it is locked to 60FPS?
I did tweak the config and enable FG - but again, I shared all this information from the start in the MGS Delta thread with the aforementioned settings and gameplay screenshots relating to how to achieve 4K DLSS 60FPS with a 4070 :)

Is it still "that good"?

It's 24 years old. There's some outright bad levels.
