Whilst i accept an actual bike fit is useful, anyone got any quick tips. I pretty much just threw my new bike together and haven't really measured saddle height/position. I was aiming to get a few rides in and dial it in. I've done a few now and occasionally finish the ride with a slight strain in my lower left back. It goes quick once i get off and move around. It never seems to affect me mid ride but just when i get off.
I did a slightly harder ride last Thursday and felt it more and it then seemed to turn into one of those old man moments where you feel the strain any time you get up from a chair. Something not helped by being squashed on a Ryanair plane! I'm now around a week later and still feel it a bit. I'm aiming to get out on the bike again today at lunch as i've got the re-arranged event next week which will be 4-5hrs so i need to try and make some quick adjustments.
I already know my stem is a bit long. It feels fairly comfy on the bar/drops, but the hoods feel a slight stretch. I know saddle position shouldn't be used to correct reach, but wondering if i could get away with it a little in the short term. The other option is just to keep stretching for the next week to try and loosen everything up so i can get through the longer ride and then worry about things after!

saddle height is probably one of the biggest issues for a lot of people.. my brother had his 7cm too high! and complained about knee pain.. above lowered it by 7cm and he's much happier now.
