Hi everyone. My first post on here so go easy!

I've bought my son a Crucial MX500 1TB SSD for his PC. It will be connected to his Prime A520M-K Motherboard via on of the SATA 3 6gb/s connectors. Can someone please confirm exactly what connectors I need? I believe its the SATA 3 connector plus a power cable, but I don't want to buy the wrong things!

Cheers for any help.

I'm not aware of different cable types for consumer stuff. Use any old SATA cable, it'll be faster than a HDD but slower than NVME due to limitations of the drive and technology itself.

Thanks. It should be fine for him. He has an M2 500gb drive (and that's it!) at the moment and has no space for his games. I wanted to get him more storage and thought this would be better for his games than a 5400 rpm HD. Hope I'm right.

500GB SSD is still good for OS and couple of games. Just add another HDD, either SSD/NVME or platter HDD (for higher capacity , better £ per GB)
