What film did you watch last night?

Dragged Across Concrete - 3/10

Way too long for what it was. I can see why people would enjoy it as it has a Tarantino vibe to it, but I'm one of those that hates nearly all of Tarantino's films. This one wasn't for me.

The original Tron 7/10
watched this with mum in the run-up to watching the most recent film that is out
I'm not quite sure how to review this, given that it was released in 1982..
..but, well, in 1982 the film must have been amazeballs to watch, but I'm not really sure that it aged very well
The closest that I can come is to say that in today's world, the movie is quaint, the story is alright, and it holds a lot of the past terminology and stereotypes. as You can imagine, it was good to be reminded of who Tron actually was,
The big corp dude has an amazing desk in it, and the female is okay, for 1982, I guess! 7/10,
would have been 8/10 if mum hadn't have fallen asleep

end of line.
I watched Tron last week again, for the first time in a couple of decades (and I did see it at the cinema as a kid). I pretty much agree with what you've said but I'm not sure I'd give it a 7 other than for nostalgia maybe. It all just seemed a bit too easy and quick. I'd probably rate it 6/10 now.

I watched Tron Legacy afterwards and other than the graphics I don't think it was as good so it's a watchable but forgettable 5/10.

28 weeks later

Errr 7/10

Another one of those.... Hard to rate as some of it was very good. Some of it not so much
I will always find this film within the 28 series the funniest. Just how hilariously bad some of the writing was, like how the father obviously knew the mother was infected and dangerous, but then swanned in for a smooch. Make it make sense

The Long Walk. 5/10 "Average"

I didn't dislike it. You're not with the contestants long enough to really care for them before they get their ticket. The "after you, no, after you" at the end was a bit ropey.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) - 9/10

Turned 42 last week so figured I had to watch this again. It maintained the tradition of changing things up from any previous H2G2 - the radio, TV, book and film continuities are all separate entities - and in doing so lost one of my favourite jokes (about where the planning notice for the demolition of Arthur's house was ), hence it loses a point. But I enjoy the film so much that I can get past that.

you're right, nostalgia was affecting my judgement, I think 6/10 is a much fairer score, just finished legacy, which i came to leave a review, but I'll wait until tomorrow now.

I think that you should aqquaint yourself with the spoiler tab ! Giving end stuff away can kill a movie for me

Was bored decided to give Osiris a whirl, thought I'd accidentally started a parody episode of The Unit at first, was OK but predictable and didn't really develop beyond the first bit on the ship with a lot of looping through the same content - much of it borrowed from other movies. A bit of a missed opportunity.

Suspiria (Remake on Prime) 5 / 10
Not sure what I was expecting but a sort of a body horror thriller with
Tilda Swinton played the old man.
Two and a half hours of 'OK'.

Heh. I almost chose this instead of the above. I suspect I'd be equally disappointed.

Yeah I rewatched this recently, I rate it higher than that... But I think it's just too long. Some things it does well, others not so much.

Going to rewatch the original, I have just watched mother of tears as well. Which is not amazing.

Tron Legacy 7/10
Flynn, the game designer from the movie Tron, has disappeared, but, almost 21 years later, that won't stop his son, Sam, from looking for him when he learns of a mysterious message that leads back to Flynn's old amusement arcade. Will he find his dad? And if he does, can he bring him home?
I came into watching this movie for the 1st time ever, so I watched it from a place of wonder, which must have helped given the high score, others would probably give it a 5/10, or a 6/10, but I found the story to be pretty decent, and really enjoyed the SFX, which were the result of having up to 1800 computers all linked up rendering together which makes the film look pretty good for 2010, I'm convinced that disney must have had OLED tech before it really began to snowball, either that or their LCD/ IPS quality screens were the buisiness (lets face it, at disney they are probably at the cutting edge of playback screens at any given year, why do I say this?
Well, for me it was like it was made for current technology, the play of lights on darks on my OLED telly was terrific, the best that I've seen on our TV yet! The use of colours on darks was truly exceptional, which is why I'm only giving it a 7/10, where I really want to give it 8/10 just for how "wow" the visuals on OLED made me feel!
Tomorrow we go to see Keanu in "Good Fortune", really looking forward to this one. the woman was nice to look at, she is almost the complete opposite of the woman in tron, dark instead of blonde, and I bet they pushed for her being black instead of white too, but then settled for slightly asian, the whole casting was great the Actor who played Sam was good enough to be Jeff Bridges son, in looks and sound, the woman was cast very well too, hard, but soft around the edges the acting was good imo, not oscar winning good, but good irrigardless
took me a while to figure out the very, very end of the movie, but I did eventually.
Mum stayed awake for the whole movie, which is always a good sign, so maybe it really does deserve an 8/10, but no, that would be too high! there are real 8/10 movies out there that are better than this. The movie left me wanting to do a full rewatch of the Matrix films
