Arc Raiders

Any more info than this? What was it about the account creation that you didnt like, enough to make you not even attempt to play the game?
I really just couldn’t be bothered. It was late and I just wanted a quick shot and I was like why do I need ANOTHER account. I’ve watched plenty on twitch and it looks decent.

I quite like watching streams of this more than i think i would playing as a pve carebear :)

Also watching vids and people saying solo is so much more chilled [i was close to buying] then i watch a video of shroud saying solo is so sweaty and hard.

It depends how you play it. You can go stealthy round the outskirts to get some missions done, or wade in and attack others, or team up against Arc's.
Last few times in I've just been keeping my head down trying to get my missions done to progress them.

Isnt Shroud generally a shoot first , no speak, sort of player? If he is shooting first rather than communicating, then yeah he probably would find it sweaty and hard

You create an account once and it links to your Steam account - and then you never have to worry about it ever again.

It's super useful for someone like me who plays Arc (and The Finals) across both PC and PS5 - as I can link my single Embark account to both my PS account and Steam account and everything is full cross progression and crossplay.

The different with solo is that you don't have any team-mates to revive you if you go down, unless you encounter a good Samaritan who will revive you (this has happened to me). So if you're downed you lose everything. (Unless you have a backpack with a safe pocket for a single item type).

That's why it's so tense and why every player encounter is a roll of the dice.

Lemons are best on blue gate I found

On normal maps yes, but there tends to be a rush for all the fruit spots which makes getting out with any a real problem.

I've found it's way easier to click on the maps and look at the modifiers in use, when the "lush" modifier is, it means trees drop way more fruit, but more importantly you'll find little wicker baskets all around the map with fruits in them, mushrooms, olives, lemons and prickle pears. There's usually quite a lot of these caches dotted about which will with 1 good run will allow you to meet the needs for upgrading your rooster. I tend to take a hatch key with me on these and escape to obscure hatches that are out of the way to ensure a good haul of fruits.

For upgrading scrappy, you will eventually need a dog collar, lemons, apricots, olives, a cat bed (trinket), mushrooms, 3 fluffy pillows.

If lush conditions for maps are not procing for you, you can get Apricots in Dam, just north of the annex building there's an island with a hatch in the red sea bed area, and loads of apricots. Lemons and Olives drop in bluegate at the olive grove location, both trees have their own distinct model. You can often press E to kick a tree to get it to drop more loot. Prickly pears are dropped by cactuses and can be found in the desert areas of Dam, a good spot is the residential areas in the north west of the map, they have cactuses around them, and south of there before you hit the swamp there's usually some more.

He's trying to be edgy, imagine forking out for a 5080 to witness the glorious gfx and performance, installing what is likely to be game of the year and then deleting it because of a 2 minute hurdle he couldn't handle doing......

I get the distaste for account creation for games. Buuuut, the account creation for Arc is like...1 click you tie it to your steam login. There's no real account creation process to speak of. Having accounts doesn't allow them to do anything untoward that they couldn't already do (like track your data), it just allows them to tie your game to a unique ID to be ban-able if you're caught cheating. And allows you to appeal that process if you're hacked and someone uses your ID to cheat with.

"Don't shoot" is all I seem to hear people say in this game!!

The first extraction shooter I have played, and I am having a lot of fun so far.

Played a few games of this last night for the first time, had no real clue what I was doing. The flying drone things seem to never die when I shot them and rinsed me almost immediately. I did encounter a friendly duo once who let me run about with them for a few minutes, I assumed I'd be shot on sight so that was nice.
My final game I managed to actually load up, call a lift, nearly die twice and kill a drone or 2. Then make it onto the platform. Only for some scumbag to pop out of nowhere and finish me off. Ah well. It was fun.

Shoot the hover bits not the main body of the drones.

Personally I like to use the Pew Pew Pew emote, sounds great and as the physical side of the emote is fanning a pretend revolver, it works well with my Man With No Name outfit :D

Do you guys not use your mics? I haven't used an emote once; don't see the point as I can just say what I want on the mic and it's obviously far more organic and quicker too.

Not interested in using a mic to be honest. With my west country accent not many people can understand me anyway!!

I’m starting to like it a little more. I think it’s mainly down to the friendly interactions. The last thing you want after sneaking from one end of the map to the other, dodging all of the Ark, is to get close to your quest point and have someone start shooting at you.

I’ve ran into a group of three who I thought were instantly going to kill me, who just let me go. These interactions are great!

Everyone seems to be in a good mood on there today.
