Foam cannon would mean I'd need the pressure washer, right? I'd have to fetch the pressure washer from the inlaws, which won't be possible for a month and a half.

So I suppose a garden sprayer is the only option for the time being.

Correct :)

Nothing is as effective as being able to wash it at all :D

@MrRockliffe sorry for the constant questions, are you able to recommend a 5L or larger sprayer that you've used? I only have 1L trigger sprayers, which wouldn't be enough and hands will probably get achy after use.

I found https://www.primetools.co.uk/product/spear-jackson-sj5lpaps-5-litre-pump-action-pressure-sprayer/ - would this suffice?

I use the IK Multi. It's pricey at 100 odd, but you can also get one which foams and is powered - that may be a good compromise for you between a foam cannon and sprayer, but the powered one is even more expensive.

DW10 will give you 10% off over a certain amount.

The one you've linked will be absolutely fine, but worth seeing if you can get a larger container than 5L. This looks alright, though haven't used it myself: https://www.prokleen.co.uk/pro-kleen-garden-pump-sprayer

It mentions it deals with patio cleaner, which will be a strong alkaline - therefore I'd imagine it'd be safe to use with Touchless.

Fantastic stuff. Will probably opt for the 8L Pro Kleen one you've linked, as I technically already have the pressure washer, foam lance, etc., just not on me at the moment annoyingly

So doesn't make a lot of sense for me to spend a lot more money on the 100 odd one or the powered one.

Thank you for your help :)

No trouble.

I'd probably go for the 10L just because the price difference is so small, and it makes a difference when using it.

It means you have an extra 2L of space in the tank for air, meaning the sprayer will work for longer without needing to pump it back up :-)

Some purchases from in2Detailing.

P&S Xpress interior - Ran out and is my favourite interior cleaner. It smells awesome and cleans well even at 1:1 dilution.

Air con refresh - I've not cleaned the interior for a while with everything going on, I feel things aren't smelling as fresh so hopefully this sorts it.

Koch Chemie RS - I generally think highly of their products and they tend to be a good price per ml. I have the Labocosmetica acidic shampoo (Purifica I think it's called) but I wasn't a fan of the complex instructions.

Garage Therapy Sigma V3 - I've read good things, I'll try this over Labocosmetica Perfecta SiO2 that I have.

HDD tyre prep - I've ran out of CarPro re-tyre and wanted to try something different (CarPro works really well, just like to test things). I wanted to try the ADBL stuff but it's not easily available.

@MrRockliffe I was just thinking about the capacity before I order the stuff, as you said it was car size dependent. I've got a small-ish car, similar size to a Golf, so was wondering if I even need the 10L?

I doubt I'd use 8L of prewash?

Bigger tank =

- Topping up less frequently
- More capacity for air, so pumping it up less frequently

There’s no downside IMO :-)

Makes sense! For some reason I doubt I'd be even topping up the 8L version, for example, more than once for a car that's my size, but perhaps I'm underestimating in my head.

@MrRockliffe just to let you know how it went, I sorted out the car earlier today.

Snow foam was brilliant, thanks for your recommendation. Eliminated most of that road traffic film that was on the car. The sprayer was alright, but the process of spraying around the car just took ages honestly. Now I understand why you wouldn't recommend it in the summer...

It's still decent though, but I do think I'm just going to have to switch back to the foam cannon once I've fetched it back from the inlaws at Christmas. It'll be far quicker than the sprayer. Makes sense why you prefer the cannon too!

Halfords have some offers on their Advanced cleaning care, so I picked up:

- Drying towel
- Snow foam
- Wheel cleaner

And I can confirm, it’s quite nice stuff.

I don’t think I’d pay full price for it, because while it’s decent it’s expensive at full price.

However, it’s up to 35% off at the moment and so I think the prices are very reasonable.

Would recommend if you don’t want to get anything online.

Wheel cleaner reacted quickly and the snow foam seems to be a standard citrus pre wash affair, but produces nice thick foam if that’s your thing.

I've heard some very good stuff about the Advanced range, just popped an order in for £100 so a variety of products.

Will see how it gets on.:p

I once ran out and picked up Halfords Foam - Cleaning Power is fairly decent and as mentioned really thick foam! Even thicker than AB Magifoam.

What is everyone using for sealants? I've been using stuff that goes through the snow foam cannon and works great but with the colder weather and more rain the smearing caused is awful and despite trying to now get to much on the windscreen when applying it.. some does get on.

Anyone have any tips?

Any recommend a decent rain repellent for the windscreen? i dont care for beading or detailing. purely from a driving perspective. the tesla autowipers are the worst i have ever experienced so looking for something that can minimise their use and have water run off. rain x seems to be half best invention in the world and half worst thing ever

They're all like that in my experience, amazing for a short time when applied correctly but it quickly deteriorates and ends up being worse than just getting a really good set of wiper blades and claybarring the windscreen.

any towel recommendations, I seem to end up buying one every 6 months as they start to leave tiny fibres on the cars surface, im washing them really gently and following the instructions, or is it just a case of assume I have to keep replacing?

Folks, looking for handheld pump sprayer recommendations, please?

Preferably one where after 15 pumps, it doesn't just give you about 10 seconds of a spray before you need to pump it again......or do they all do that to some degree?

Cheers.

certainly the ones I have tried seem only good enough to do the wheels before giving up, ive gone back to pressure washer attachment cause i usually find ive missed a bit in the arches.
