BMW and M Power Owners

Someone on piston heads was talking about M2's so I found a local one, 67 plate so not a Competition, and wondered about insurance. Bloody thing came out around £30 a year cheaper than my 428i! 245HP vs 365HP and £15k more value and the insurance is less. Mind you the BMW Warranty is nearly three times the price!

My Boxster is the cheapest car I’ve ever insured - £480 odd for the year.

When I had my S5 a few years ago it was £2k a year.

981 S was £1200 a year ago.

Very strange sometimes.

It's sound like, you've got a lot of points on your license, at those prices ;) :P

F87 M2 daily in Scotland, what could possibly go wrong?

M2 ? lower ground clearance, pothole resilience (spoilersplitter : who was it who just posted he couldn't drive different model into garage)

People refer to me as a baby at work so I’d probably say yes :P

Those of you with the B58TU engines, what oil do you use? I bought some 0W20 LL17FE+ for the M340i, but I'm not sure if it's not too thin...

After about a year of contemplation and waiting for the right one to come up I finally grabbed myself an F87 M2 Comp manual. Had to travel 500 miles to get it but well worth it!

Very happy with the car so far.
I've had this same problem in the past. Scotland is, frankly, terrible for anything unique or niche. SUV's and 'crossovers' a plenty at every dealer, but anything remotely special or limited numbers and you can be waiting months. I ended up going to Ipswich from central Scotland simple because of the dearth of what I wanted this side of the border.

There were a few around. I went to see and test drive a few but they were all DCT. There were a couple of manuals around but either private sellers or Cat S. I just took my time and found a good one in the south of England, Barnstaple and got it.

I wanted a blue one but got a black one in the end and it has grown on me a lot.
