Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

At least try to get your terminology correct...
Snp?

That's the Scottish national party!

Presumably you refer to the S&P500 which is the top 500 companies in the USA.

You are aware that VAUG is basically S&P500 and VWRP is more a global fund, right?

That's very un-diverse by its very nature.

Which is very different to a global fund... A global fund will also feature most of that because USA tech are doing very well, but also have several thousand fractional shares across the globe.

That's the reason I went with VWRP and VEUA.. As my personal confidence in the USA is pretty low.
Like DnD! :D

Yeah I know what those funds are. America has been where it's at the last year. I know it's heavily weighted to America and the mag 7.

Its 413x, the most pessimistic dude you'll ever meet man.

Also look at what they are invested in, some of it is 50+% down. Its far different to us in trackers. When we fall 20% they fall 95% on some of those AI/quantum stocks.

I sometimes wonder about starting an investment thread, but there's already a savings thread and this thread which I guess by name is a trading thread... But I also think the subjects are too close to each other and it would dilute the discussion

Investing thread is boring. The advice is always the same 'buy tracker and dont look at it..'

Trading is different which is why we see people losing their heads in here.

Problem with Nvidia is it can go anywhere after earnings, even when it's good :D
Like any share then. ‘good’ is relative to expectation. Future earnings are more interesting. You buy shares for what they will do, not what they did.

Anyway you were selling at 140 a few months ago, ready for the ‘obvious’ drop I recall

I have sold the 3x position I left open yesterday. Rather lock in that profit.

Leverage gets eaten away over time on flatline anyway

15% on a trade is great. Why are you taking like it’s disappointing ? Assuming 3x and 5% gain

It's not disappointing. But it was risky to leave it open overnight. More luck than judgement.

Yes 3x+

Everyone has different portfolios, products etc just stating that markets are up x% this year doesn't really mean a thing unless your mirroring it.
It's so relative. I sound cringey I'm just sad I suck at the game.

I'm actually thinking of a -3x on nvidia now. As I'm thinking it will drop down. But it's a bit of a lottery on when USA markets open

We should make a pie where everyone chips in their biggest fail.

I ate an absolute **** sandwich on Lucid, so that’s my entry!

If we want an OCUK winners pie…..ATAI Beckley is my lucky stock, made a lot swing trading it.

My biggest "fail" i would guess was having to sit on Barclays shares since 2009, they are a turning a decent profit now though.

currently, my biggest fail is ALTR but I knew it was risky when I got in. It's still very early days of my 4-5 year plan with that stock.

Biggest loss ever? Petrofrac and Premier african minerals and sirius minerals. (never touch aim shares again!) full of fraud. Not just loses. Flat out lies in statements etc.
