NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

They have already started going pop....

Odd timing really
I've limited mine to 600w. Worked better than undervolting to achieve the same max power output of 600w. Amps and temps on connector good with the Matrix bios better again, higher clocks and steady. Only using that power on BF6 for max fps with no frame gen.
Other single player games I undervolt and use MFG.
Id like to think anyone running a 800w bios is monitoring the connector? I know, you'll crack the jokes

You know, even under stock, they spike well over 600W, as I have seen spikes as high as 808W on the Wireview. I do have a Wireview Pro 2 due next month, and I am in the first batch for them.

Using the Matrix bios, I have seen spikes well over 900W. So, I'll leave mine with the normal BIOS, I think.

Yeah, saw that. Just checked connections again, all good. Monitoring with wvp and temp sensors from motherboard on psu and gpu.
Remember, I already melted a wvp at stock and undervolted, so connector, pins, temps all roll the dice for sure. Temps were 70,80, plus on the connector, didn't realise that was an issue
TG replaced 12vhpwr gpu connector and I got a refund for the GPU as company when bust. So good luck for me,free 5090.
Have also pre ordered wvp2, but Jan batch for me.
Certainly recommend TG for there customer service and helpfulness.

Guys best way to test 18000mhz memory OC on RTX 5080? ta
Heaven/Furmark, initially. Heaven is good for changing values as it running till it crashes. Not sure re 5080, but can't overclock the 5090 memory too far, it doesn't let you.
But then ultimately in games. Different games can handle different overclocks in my experience.

Just pulled the trigger on an ASUS 5070 Ti Prime OC. It fits my case and is apparently more reliable for my CAD software than a 9070 XT (which I was almost certain I would buy).

£725 for the GPU to replace my 3080 FE. Looking at price history it's not a particularly good deal at £5 above recent prices, but I'll be happy to see if this cures my screen issues.

Is it just a case of taking out the 3080 and sticking the 5070 Ti in or is there more to it?

Genuinely lost all interest in current GPUs lol, perhaps even future. By the time my 4090 is too old to run games well the gaming space will have shifted to a big enough degree that a dedicated GPU probably won't matter any more as AI/ML will be doing all the heavy lifting anyway and we will be "gaming" on any types of machines.

If it gets really bad then devs will have to keep targeting weak hardware for a long while yet and the am4 platform will just have to do me for another few years  (memory prices are absolutely shocking)

Just wonder is a 750w psu this one Corsair RM750x 80 PLUS Gold, 750 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply purchased back in 2020 want to run a msi 5070 ti ventus, my cpu is a 10700k not overclocked?
