I ordered a system I plan to test and setup for my son for Christmas, ordered on November 21st. It's been in "Build in progress" ever since. Can anyone give me an idea of how long people normally need to wait before they receive the PC?

No personal experience, but looking at one of the custom builds it does say it can take up to 10 working days.

As Craig said, you could ring them and find out where they are with it.

System Delivery Time

This system will take 7-10 working days to build once your order is confirmed.

Order by Friday 5th December for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

Which one did you order?

Just got through. Looking like it will be ready to dispatch at the end of next week and to expect it the week of 8th December.

Good to know.

Not a bad time frame all things considered tbh, Black Friday/Christmas coming up and massive stock shortages with some components at the moment.

That's a nice rig too, I'm sure your son will be happy.

Thanks, I hope so. It looks a lot better than the one he had spotted on a high street brand shop. You can always find a better spec but this should do the job for a while

More than tbh, AM5 is an excellent platform with a lot of upgrade potential.

In 3-4 years time he'll likely be able to pop in a higher end CPU and a new Graphics card and be good for another 3-4 years.

2x16 i think it says in the list above so 32
ah yes...i clicked on the link for the pc, and comes with 16 as standard now. that had me worried as 16 isn't enough now. Be tempted to swap out the probable aerocool psu there probably going to put in there no doubt.

As new year approaches...
Son 'Dad, can i play with my pc now please?'
Dad...'sec, still testing it...urgh...dead again!'

I think it will require a lot of testing...!

Mine is almost 10 days now and the worst thing it is not pre-built, they’re taking too long and now some of the components are out of stock already.

Woohoo it's arrived! I need to do some extensive testing!

One question, I did order a TP-link AX1800 external wifi adatper, it has a built in one. Do you think I need the external one? I know wired is the way to go but I have no control over what the network setup is at his mums place.

The external one gives the option
To place it higher up
So the pc case doesn't block the signal
It will of course depend on the location it's
Set up in
But usually with aerials/antennas the higher up
The better the signal

And yes if its possible wired is preferable

if it works fine with the built in one, I'd return the external..no point paying for something you don't need
