What a year in the McLaren I’m into over three years of ownership now and covered 7000 miles this year alone. Driving Europe was incredible, some of the mountain passes were incredible and having such smooth flowing quiet roads meant I could truly open the car up and enjoy it, what a car!

So much so I’ve booked a couple of driving holidays and heading to the Black Forest with making tracks driving tours in May and then a McLaren Owbera club driving tour to south of France covering a lot of Harry’s Garage favourite French driving routes in September so 2026 will be another chunk of miles thrown at it, but you’ve gotta enjoy these cars and not worry about values just drive them!

Yesterdays drive through air port tunnels was epic fun full chat in tunnels roof down and changing up and down you never know what’s coming whether it’s a mighty explosion, whip crack or even a double gun shot going off. Such an entertaining car and so much laughter my face still aches today, the 600 LT is an epic machine.

Now the welding is done the car goes back in bodyshop end of January for a full frontal respray, the current windscreen shall be removed for this and once the painting is complete a new windscreen shall be installed.

I know you like having your cars paint corrected and keeping them coated, so don’t forget to leave the car in the sun after a re-spray to allow for outgassing and sinkage to occur in the paint before doing any correction and coating :-)

Depending on how thick the build is, it could take a couple weeks in this weather.

I shall be leaving it 2-3 months to gas off, but cheers. :)

I'm racking my brains, on a very long night shift I'm sure I read on here someone purchased a Cupra Leon estate 333bhp version?

Mines the older 310. @Flibster has just picked up the facelift 333. There's someone else with one too I believe. (see the Golf thread: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/who-owns-a-golf-gtd-gti-r.18662530/)

Yup. Had it for a few short weeks now. 25 plate Leon VZ3.

Still loving it. Done some longer distances with it recently (yay.. xmas...) and looks to be getting around 400 miles from this tank of fuel.

I really want to take a trip down to Italy, but have always heard the standard of driving there is appalling which puts me off a bit!
Is it just a case of keeping aweay from the cities as much as possible?

It’s a bit chaotic in towns but in fairness they just get on with their day and get where they are going so I quite enjoyed it to be honest.

I feel in the U.K. driving standards are just as worse people don’t look ahead so then stop at empty roundabouts or will sit at a junction and then pull out on you as your on top of them causing you to throw anchors on.

In Italy people just drive quick and if there is a gap they take it to be honest all times I’ve driven in Italy I’ve enjoyed it but I tend to drive everyday like a track day so fitted in well. :D
