Arc Raiders

Robots got me once as I was fighting two then two balls just appeared out of nowhere.

Happens to all of us mate. Your voice will now start breaking a bit and you'll start feeling some "funny feelings", when this happens speak to your parents and explain it, they'll give you the "talk".

A quick tip for getting mushrooms, olives, apricots etc. On Stella Montis if you have chilled lobbies go to the cafeteria in Atrium. At the back of the cafeteria is a kitchen room with a locked door. The door can be opened with a battery that will be nearby. If you open that door there are usually two fruit baskets and sometimes there is also fruit in the other containers in there.

after my initial shock of the requirements of tier 5 of the caravan it's not too bad, I am likely to get that quicker than it took me to find the 5 cooling fans. also it has helped me clear a load of space in my inventory. am already over 70% in everything bar weapons.
I got lucky with my final rocketeer part needed for an upgrade. in solo a couple of players had teemed up and took down one of the big arcs then hid around it and were sniping at people trying to get the loot. (i stumbled on it long after it was taken down so not like they felt I was nicking their gear, it was a honey trap) they took some pot shots at me but I was able to get the part and run away thanks to a bit of luck and a decent shield.
still a pointless move from them however.

I normally play late night with Xplay off as console players seem for more aggro

Had some superb games with randoms all nuking stuff together

One guy added me after the game... only to be playing on xbox... does the matchmaking ignore Crossplay on/off if quiet?

how can teams of 3 play duos? I didn't think you could specify duos, thought it was just solos and then every one else.
If you queue in as a duo and don't select fill squad then you generally find yourself playing with other duos.

I think matchmaking is always best effort, rather than strict.

Whether that's matching to like-minded players regarding PvP, or duos Vs trios, or pc only.

When it's quiet it will do it's best, but if the player pool is limited you get what's available.

I've also had some late night solos around 10pm-1am ish. Had one buried city run where like 6 of us all took down the bombardier on top of the car park. Then everyone was just running up and down together. Was quite fun!

And this is coming from someone who is pretty much always shoot on sight immediately when I play trios.

Trios and solos are VERY different mentalities. If you're not KOS on trios, you're dying.

Yeeeeeee. Mostly.

We have had several friendly teams, or at least.... friendly enough.

The trick with duos/trios is to not put yourself into a position where the other team have an advantage.

If you are all positioned well, acknowledge the other team, basically saying, we've seen you, and we are ready, a lot of teams won't try it as they won't take on risking fair fight, and provided you can move away keeping good positioning, it's fine.

If they follow you that's an instant red flag.

I honestly think that's a lot of the skill in this game, because the PVP itself isn't particularly skill intensive.

i think they do need a way of pleasing both sets of players for long term player base.

Personally i would do 2 new maps giving 7 in total , then on rotation make 2 maps PVP ( turn off the abilty to kill another player in the other 5 maps ) and then in those 5 maps greatly increase the amount of ARC.

Also i like the missions and feel they should introduce weekly missions , these could be for 1,2 or 3 players needing to work together and can only be done in non pvp mode.

They should leave the game as is. I'm sorry if this opinion upsets people, but all of this moaning about humans behaving like humans do kinda gets on my nerves.

As the above poster said, all the more rewarding when you extract with good loot. The unpredictability of people you meet makes the game for me. Doing what you are suggesting would ruin the game for me.

If they were to do that, then they would have to make it so that the decent loot doesnt drop in the non-pvp maps and they would also have to make it so that you cant complete quests/progress your character or bring out useful loot, from the non-pvp maps (for the reasons I've already stated earlier in this thread) - basically the moment you make it so that people can get things/level/complete missions the easy way (in non-pvp), everyone will just do that and the whole progression/mission/loot gathering, aspect of the game collapses.

It's not a great idea what is being suggested, the way it is now is what has made it so popular.

As stated, if you give people the "easy route" to good gear, they will just flock to that mode to get the gear, then take it into the pvp maps. This would then lead to super easy gearing and a massive disparity where the only people going into pvp maps are geared to the teeth, which is a significant barrier to entry. Honestly, I'm absolutely fine with how it is right now. I've just come out of 4 solo runs in a row where not 1 person shot at me, in 2 of them I even completed the fort puzzle with other raiders and shared the loot out. I'm still watching my back and still prepared but that's what makes it exciting in a way... I only tend to take in super basic loadouts to solo anyway. Blue augment, light shield, maybe an anvil and and some meds.

But when I trio up with my mates, we go in all guns blazing (as for the most part trios is kill or be killed in my experience).

Yesterday was an absolute ratfest for every lobby I was in. Either people camping and shooting on sight or shouting “don’t shoot” then blasting me/us.

I don’t mind the former but the latter is truly degenerate behaviour!
Managed to out-rat a rat this evening - on Buried City, slid down the escalator and took out the Murder-Roombas waiting at the bottom (Anvil has been brilliant - thanks @Diddums !).

Saw a shifty looking guy in the shadows, who said "Don't Shoot" just a few too many times. I said "You're all goo-" before he opened fire...

...I dodge-rolled and returned the favour with my Kettle and nailed the bugger.

Would have been way more satisfying if he'd had more than a free load out.

Any good tutorial videos, ? would like to get into this but after the intro segment, i usually end up running into arc and dying and not having fun, then you have weak gear, and whats the best gear to pick up ?

Just don't try and fight arc early on unless you have a Ferro, none of the free loadout guns are particularly great at doing. And you'd need to get used to where you have to shoot them to take them out easily. Honestly I'd just try and avoid ARC to begin with even if it means taking a wider berth. Focus on gathering what you can on free loadouts and learning the game and what the items all do.
