*** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Just recently bought Bilt Hamber Trace Less Glass Cleaner and 3D Bead It Up.

Both did a very good job. I'm struggling with contamination on my glass cloths. The lint fibres are back! Got some new ones on order. I do my best to keep everything separate but I just think natural dust and fluff around in the air eventually gets to them. Brushing against clothing, etc. Anywho, the 3D Bead It Up, actually went on the exterior glass well and buffed off OK. Used two cloths and made sure to buff it more than it probably needed; nothing worse thinking its clean, drive into the sun and see the smears. lol.
The best glass cloths I've used so far have been these ones - https://mcrofbre.com/products/crystowel-streak-free-700gsm-glass-microfibre-cloth

Everything else, even waffle weave towels, still leave lint. However even these are a little thick and cumbersome which makes cleaning the inside of the windscreen a bit difficult sometimes.

Edit: just seen you've already tried those, my bad.

Bit random but does anyone know a product that will remove makeup from a sun visor? It was missed by the dealer before I picked the car up (and me on the test drive) and willing to see if I can clean it myself. I'm thinking some sort of all purpose cleaner? But then does it need to be something specific to a car or will a general household one do? Would only use a small amount as a test but not sure how long it's been there by the previous owner so may have been dried too long.

Try the Halfords Advanced one - it’ll save buying one online

If you are buying one online, Surfex HD (which you’ll need to dilute)

Mine's caked in salt. And it's too cold for a wash.

If you need a jet wash, the Karcher Outlet have a couple of decent deals at the moment.
Also B&Q were selling the AVA P50 for quite a good price.

I bought a Karcher K5 Power Control Refurb from their outlet, delivered yesterday, looks brand new and not a mark on it.

You will be OK with that kit.

I bought the Karcher as i have a patio and a block paved drive that need cleaning now and again as well as the car.
If it was just for a car, I would go with the garden hose and a few other bits and bobs.

yes I'm a fan of a spray bottle for pre-wash/touchless, got a matabi 7l sprayer and most of the time keep a solution of touchless in it,
ready to roll on the car(easy to manipulate lance into arches&wheels), or, a first today, did the bicycle and was just as effective
- ther pw foaming gun was a waste of money

That seems expensive to me for what it is.

I've just added like for like products from other brands on in2Detailing and it came to £73 - but a lot of that cost is the IK sprayer and you can easily find cheaper sprayers on Amazon.

Other observations: You don't mention having a pressure washer, which I assume means you don't have a foam cannon. If you're planning on using a hose only, you won't need a snow foam as you'll need a pressure washer and foam cannon to get foam (unless you also get a hand pump foamer but that takes too long).

Therefore you could get away with just buying a good sprayable pre-wash and not having a snow foam on top of that (especially PH neutral snow foams, they're useless). HDD Road Rage, KKD Citrus or Labocosmetica Libera are good sprayable pre-wash es.
