Sim racers - what are you running?

It's a KIWI design K4
How do you find it? I'm not keen on original strap and face cover.

I've been looking at getting the BOBOVR S3 Pro Super Strap (Built in fan and removable battery pack) and AMVR FC4A Face Cover Pad (Has vents for air flow and ice silk padding for comfort).

I've been through a few different straps and found the kiwi one to be the most comfortable but it all depends on face shape etc.
I could never get on with the halo style straps but it's personal preference.
The battery probably gives about an extra hour of playtime.
What I like about the bobovr is the removable battery packs.

My current setup for VR mainly

GT Omega rig
Moza R5 wheels and pedals
Chinese handbrake and shifter
34 inch ultra wide 1440p monitor for the odd non VR racing games with additional Chinese small monitor above.
Bass shakers under pedal tray and seat connected to nobsound amp
Quest 3 over dedicated wifi6 router

Very tidy setup. What spec PC are you using for the VR? My rig is currently running off an Xbox series x but tempted to make the jump to PC. I can then also nick my sons quest 3 for trying VR.

I was running a 4070 super setup but it was struggling and I hadn't upgraded in a few years so I'm now running a
5090 with a 9800x3d

VR needs a lot of horsepower and a lot of VR racing sims aren't very well optimised
Automobilista 2 is the exception though, i can run everything in VR at ultra and it looks superb
EA WRC is also very good now, F1 25 is decent and Assetto Corsa EVO and rally are now playable at 80fps but you do need the 5090

Decided it was time to get my keyboard off the floor so I 3d printed a moving, rotating keyboard holder for my rig.
It worked out great, it folds out for when i need to use it and folds back in when not in use.
Great design on thingiverse and easy to print. Took around 20hrs on my Ender 3v2.
Fits the Logitech k400 perfectly

turnaround was very fast.
but slightly odd

I bought from Raceanywhere, they asked me to send it back, I asked if they would provide a label, they asked me when I would like collection,
UPS collected last Monday, they contacted me on Wednesday to say it had been received.
then on Thursday I got this email

I did question that it seemed odd that they repaired it themselves, and got this response.

I received the base back on Friday,

i've raised the new issue with them and they have responded to emails very quickly, currently they are waiting on advice from simagic I believe
Sent back for another repair.
I assume repair not successful as they've now sent me a brand new replacement wheelbase.

Put my 3d printer to good use the past couple of days.
I've added a wind simulator to my rig

Total cost less than £35
I Used 2 x Arctic P12 Pro fans
Arduino Uno R3 clone
12v power supply
3d printed fan housing and mounts

Took abit of wiring everything up but all done and working great in simhub
Really adds to immersion.

Ive sorted out the wire mess since taking the photo. I 3d printed some housings for the wago connectors

I picked up a GT Omega Prime Lite a couple of months back, seems sturdy as anything. Comes with a side mount for shifter, brake, or HOTAS.

How do you get on with the Chinese shifter and hand brake , been looking at adding something like those myself ?

I find them great. No issues at all in any games.
I've seen on the Assetto rally forums that some peoples Chinese handbrakes arent being registered but I've had no issues with mine
Solid build quality and work great

Thanks, ordered the handbrake and will probably get the shifter later .

@ScoobyDoo , Hand brake arrived, great job for the money and well made, thanks again for the heads up.

Also got it running in Dirt 2.0 which some say it doesn't work, the Rallycross events are great fun, if only I had more talent :)

I've ordered a couple of mini macro keyboards to test tomorrow, intention is to use one of them as a button box for Assetto Corsa Competizione as inputs on xbox are limited. I was looking at the PXN CB1 box but appears to be only for PC.
