**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

As I don't play new games much these days, I'll stick to the studio drivers. Hopefully they will spare me those issues. :)

Going back to an earlier driver (577) has restored AB showing power useage in watts, can someone tell the stupid AI coders to put this functionality back into newer drivers.

I've not seen power in watts vanish in HWInfo

Neither have I. :)

That's why I mentioned AB (Afterburner), and to clarify, it disappears, well, shows 0.0, in the OSD.

Latest drivers work initially after a fresh boot, then doesn't.

Absolutely love the 595.76 hotfix drivers on my 4090, even coming from 591.86 or 591.74, they ran fine, no stability issues but 1% lows could be a little all over the place. Forcing frame gen on in unsupported games like The Division 2 through the Nvidia app is now running so much smoother, silky smooth. I was getting a locked 120fps before, but the 1% lows were all over the place jumping from the 40s to 100 fps so it felt a bit stuttery at times. Now the 1% lows are pretty much locked at a very consistent 100fps+ even when running through the world and tons of effects going on. I've also noticed much lower CPU utilisation with frame gen on in this game as well.

Stability is fine so far, fans and temps are great, this might the best driver they've done in a while.

one of the ones most effected recently was one of those i know i was on it  had a fullscreen bug on games fixed now in the latest drivers

Happy to report from a good hour of testing, Battlefield 6 is running sweet as!

Last time it did was the vulkans

no random crashes then maybe some redsec tonight lol

a round is not complete with out an NVidia team mate crashing out at some stage

Installed the latest driver last night, 595.71. through Nvidia app.

I'm overclocking through Afterburner (+330/2000) and straight away noticed a difference in performance - My core clock was locked at 2800 and card was only pushing 250w, as a result my 1% lows were much lower and noticed some small stutters here and there on Cyberpunk.

I've since installed the Hotfix driver here 595.76 which addresses the core boost / Overclocking issue. Still testing, appears to be OK for now.

Code:
This hotfix addresses the following:
When the graphics card is overclocked, GPU voltage may become capped, preventing it from boosting to expected levels [5934973]
[Resident Evil Requiem] White glowing light/dots may appear in game when Subsurface Scattering is enabled [5915673]
Improved path tracing performance in Resident Evil Requiem [5938207]
[Star Citizen] Game client crashes when launched [5935027]
Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed when playing multi-key DRM content in a browser on HDCP 1.x monitors [5934450]

I think people blame the drivers to much for crashes my friends turned out to be his brand new 9800x3d being faulty

We all do it.

We think we have a stable system when we overclock then something uncovers instability and our brains just cannot compute that our overclock might not actually be stable.

But but... It's been stable for months. I've played countless games. So it's not my oc...

Incorrect Sonny Jim, it is indeed your system it's just taken this long/this application to expose it.

I had -25 on my 9800x3d for at least 4-6 months and played countless games. Then I started getting bsods in TLOU2 and it wasn't untill I stability tested with Aida64 did I find out my -25 was not actually stable.

Of course at the time I blamed the shoddy console port!
