Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

I'm still in for the long term. I just wish I had taken another £20k to tide me over for the next year with what I want to do.

Without some big news (I know trump was talking about the USA government investing in these ai companies) i can't see how things turn around.

Perhaps one day of good, will excite everyone back with the idea of seeing the highs it could easily reach.

Have I missed something? AI stocks have been going parabolic, and a few days of profit taking and we're in a bear market now?
There is some more news about Deepseek 2 being a much more efficient model that performs pretty close to Claude, Gemini, OpenAI etc. That signals a potential commoditisation of AI tools and an element of overspend in the US based models. I saw one Youtube finance channel predict that the likes of Sandisk etc will be 25% of their ATH by this time next year.

Samsung Electronics Announces Earnings Guidance for Second Quarter 2026: 89.4t KW ($58.4b) operating profit, 1902% YOY

that is the most disgusting thing I've ever read, and we wonder why memory etc is so expensive.

Yes but apparently today’s memory stock sell offs are because Samsung didn’t hit their forecast.

Which is why I don’t understand the stock market, why would Samsung not hitting their forecast make everyone sell out of the other memory companies?

Because it'll happen to the rest.

There are already Chinese models that perform just as well as US models. I’ve been trialling GLM 5.2 and it’s functionally very similar to Claude Opus in performance. I could happily switch over permanently if need be. That news is a few weeks old now though.

It is probably in reference to DeepSeek's Dspark architecture which is much more efficient. But this won't result in any long term valuation chain.

The biggest risk is companies finding the reality doesn't live up to the hype, more engineers are re-hired, crappy AI slop apps stop polluting when consumers have to start paying full price for tokens. It will take some time for companies to really learn how to harness LLMs and what support it needs

:( is all I have to say. Bit late to cut my losses now though maybe? If it pinged back up so I was only -10% I'd be tempted to get out and just dump it into ETF's and forget about it.

No offence to 413x but he’s been predicting crashes for months.

So I’d go and do some research away from here and then make your decision. Sandisk 3% up in the last month. Not a crash.

Wd 3% up

Intel 12% etc

Zoom out.
