Yea, same as the "normal" iPhones that use Samsung panels and Corning for the glass.

Some of the Chinese phone manufacturers have improved the hinge to limit the creasing but probably impossible to eliminate it completely without some sort of self-mending/flex screen material. The other issue, aside from scratches, is that the hinge is a failure point for dust and water getting in so it's very complex design but hardware is Apple's strength.

Has it been confirmed that there won't be a regular 18 till next year? Thinking about getting my wife a 17 and I'd rather avoid my usual trick of buying something just before it's successor comes out :facepalm:

Frankly the 17 is such good value for money that even if the 18 was coming out tomorrow the former would still be a good choice - even more so considering the 18 generation will likely see a significant price bump.
The only thing I would mark the 17 down on is the 8gb RAM however that's only because most of the competition is at 12gb+ . FWIW I find the 8gb absolutely fine and knowing Apple there's no guarantee the regular 18 will even see a bump from 8gb considering they just released a laptop with said amount.

I’ll probably wait until there is a noticeable redesign or maybe switch to the Air when a newer iteration comes out

I feel like my 15 Pro could last for many more years given my fairly modest usage these days but there’s always that temptation for something shiny

Air 2 could be interesting - im just not sure how bad the price hikes will be which is putting me off any future tech until the ram collapse.

Even then, i doubt apple or any large companies would quickly adjust their pricing to compensate.

I'm having to charge my 13 Pro 3-4 times a day now and I was thinking of having the battery replaced by Apple

It’s currently 100%, post-replacement.

It was at 81% pre-replacement and was struggling to last the day.

At launch, it would comfortably last the day.

Now, post-replacement it lasts the day but I’m often on fumes. Right now, after a day of sat nav and some calls / browsing, I’m on 57%. I’m never caught short if I’m sensible and put on low battery mode etc.

It was worth the replacement for my sanity, but it’s not the battery giant it was. Deffo a software issue imo.
