Need to upgrade my harddrive in my macbook as im running low on space, was wondering if the seagate momentous were worth the bother getting over normal 5200rpm drives? Would i notice a difference in general use and would the heat/noise be a lot worse?

Thanks

Chances are we won't actually see these land in the UK until at least next month. I will put them on pre-order next week.

These drives do look the doggies danglies and I will probably get one myself.

i have 2 Seagate momentous 120gig 7200 rpm drives in my HP laptop and there quieter than the standard 5200rpm drives that were in it , also so it doesn't seem to be running any hotter.
as for speed, they make a big difference in use

I got mine last week, but then had to find an alternative 3.5" mounting solution as the kit I got didnt fit into the drive bay... this drive is a bit slower compare to my old 3.5" 160gb hitachi, emits less vibration and odd seeks are louder compared to the 160gb which was set to silent mode. Lastly power comsumption is much better. A good but expensive purchase.
