Right I dont wanna be that guy...but

UT3 bigger and better than any other FPS? You forgetting Bioshock and Halo 3 I presume. Ok maybe I can understand you 'forgetting' Halo 3, but I seriously doubt UT3 will hold a candle to Bioshock. Sorry for going off on a tangent here.
 
Better is a matter of opinion, but halo 3 will probably be bigger and I'd wager it will do better in reviews as well. I'm not really bothered about originality or whatever, if its a good game, its a good game, original or revolutionary or not, doesnt bother me. I'm personally looking forward to half life episode 2, seeing where that takes the story etc. and it is one of the best fps games to date.

I don't understand why people want new and original stuff with everything, whats wrong with games just fixing older problems and tweaking a few things.
 
Well yeah, but Bioshock is proof that when a developer genuinely tries hard and takes risks with new concepts and ideas, the end result is stonking. Endless sequels can be a bad thing. It sucks the originality and variety out of gaming in general.
 
If UT is anything like past UTs, I'd wager it'll be better than both, Considering the Multiplayer aspect is usually part of its winning formula.

Bioshock does look great, but hasnt got a multiplayer, and Halo 3 looks great, and the multiplayer is always good, But Unreal for me has always held the award for being the best.

Again, Its points of view again, And we all have different ones
 
Oh yeah, there is no doubt that Unreal Tournament is practically the father of online shooters. We do not know if it will be better than Halo 3 or not, but the hype surrounding the latter is certainly more prominent; obviously that makes sense as Halo is on the more widely available console.

Bioshock for one isnt online, so it losesout big time there, and its a totally different style of game. I dont see the sparkle in bioshock, to me its just another game. I found GoW a lot more fun to play through.

Whilst i find Halo 3 fun online, UT is going ot kill it IMO. I really enjoy the fast paced play of UT, and as much as i like Halo 3, i think i will find myself sick of it after a few weeks.

CoD4 as well.

Bioshock, although a great game is single player only, and Halo 3 will always be Halo 3. Where as UT3 will have a limitless life span with mods. Only time will tell but IMO UT3 will end up the bigger of the 3 games. I know which I think will have the largest userbase and still be talked about this time next year, and it won't be Halo or Bioshock..

I think you will find halo will be talked about next year. It will probably be the most popular online game until halo 4 comes out on Xbox live and whenever other fps games are released they will be compared to Halo.

I understand you might not like Halo, its a big game so anyone who dislikes it, their opinion sticks out, but you cannot deny it is going to be good online, we know bungie have put a lot of effort into it and there isnt much you can knit pick on it right now e.g. they added the 4 player multiplayer. Also bungie will be supporting the game for years and the Halo movie next summer, Halo Wars and no doubt another Halo game announcement.

Ask yourself now, what game is more talked about this year, Unreal or Halo? [in regards to console]

Actually it probably will be Halo 3.

Unless you're on about UT3 across all 3 platforms then obviously it will have a larger userbase.

The amount of players on Halo 2 was massive, I think people are underestimating Halo here.

A review is only good if the person reviewing it likes it. Ive played games that scored very well and didnt like them, and played games that scored badly that i loved.

I always take reviews with a pinch of salt, as its the reviewers personal opinion most of the time.

Halo 3 might have a community but like all other FPS games it will eventually be eclipsed and will do well to hold out for a year especially with so many other impressive looking games arriving in the not to distant future (i.e COD4)

I seem to remember the Beta raised quite a few negative comments when it landed. A sign of things to come after the fanfare???

As far as FPS's on consoles go, Halo 2 is still waiting to be 'eclipsed' as you say and the only game that will do that will be Halo 3. You say unreal on all the platforms but this is the console forum remember.

The beta did raise a few questions, but as I mentioned above bungie deserve a lot of credit for all the work they have done, plus theres plenty more content which wasnt in the Beta.

Halo has a large community because its such an awesome online game which a lot of people cherish and it lasts ages whilst most online games die after a few months, or a few weeks if its the 'tacked on' multiplayer job.

God I don't know why you lot argue:p

If your wanting just a games console the 360 is better, if you are wanting a multimedia centre then the PS3 has the advantage.

By the end of both of their lifespans BOTH consoles will have a huge collection of diverse games. Have this argument in 2 years when it's actually worth it. If people want to be early adopters of PS3 let them be.
