The guy bought a PS3 and loves it, Loves its features. Lots of people out there dont.

Decent post Nokkon, apart from the above comments. Yes he said it's a good games machine, and to HIM it is, to YOU it may not be. A constant theme among many people here is that they insist on telling OTHER people what a good game is. Now you may not think that Motorstorm is that special but other people do, they absolutely love it to bits. We are all different and have varied tastes. You cannot tell someone what a good game is, you can merely offer advice or your opinion. And as far as ports go, yes you're right they have been sloppy, apart from DiRT which has no tearing and a better framerate and yes (shock horror) is better than the 360 version (IMO <- note the imo, not a forced viewpoint) which is probably due to the few months extra time Codies had for development.

Played on a PS3 it is a nice console but the 360 is doing me just fine, the games, live is perfect, I will get a PS3 one day but imho I would rather wait and save up for it when the AAA games come out.

The only reason for me bringing this is the fact it was compared to the Xbox360 by the OP. If there were no other consoles then yes, the PS3 would be a good gaming console, however the OP mentioned the Xbox360, in comparison to the Xbox360 the PS3 is NOT a good games console. That's all I was saying.

360 noise is kinda annoying I guess, but mine is actually one of the 'pretty' quiet ones, disc drive isn't too bad at all.

DVDs were quiet on my 360 but I always play them on my PC now for multi-region hackz.

Hopefully when i get my new 360 with falcon chips it'll be quieter! Cant wait!

This is strange, my PS3 is very quiet whenever and only ever spins the fans up after about 2 hours play.

My Mums and Dads however in Portugal is extremely loud in comparison even on a cold night.

Guess "I was one of the lucky ones" works for the PS3 aswell!

okay, So then it was your opinion that there are no good games for the PS3?

In the same sense, others find the games out on the PS3 to be good. I for one love RFOM and Blazing Angels, and I'd also say RFOM was one of my AAA titles.

Yes everything is opinion on forums, So why is it so hard to believe other people have different opinions, and will post them. Why does it always become an arguement. An arguement where someone tries to put their opinion forward as the more important and more valid opinion. And dismisses anything said on the contrary

There's only two games worth a toss this fall, and that's Mass Effect & UT3. They'll be good games & great games but these two will shift more consoles and IMO be a lot better than the rest.

Too vague, for rpg fans the only game worth a toss is mass effect, racing fans its pgr4, fps fans theres a few, Half life 2, halo 3, unreal, cod 4 and for me personally brothers in arms. Theres a few others as well but you see what I mean.

360 has all the bases covered, the ps3 doesnt.

The majority of those games aren't out, and the ones that are, aren't so great. You've also mentioned two games that doesn't exist (Motorstorm 2 and Killzone 3), a games developer (Naughty Dog), an old Playstation 2 game (Getaway) and finally, the rest are slated for after fall. I may be wrong here, but games need to be released and played before anyone can pass judgement on if they're 'good games' or not.

If you wish to make a solid rebuttal I suggest you try not to be so inaccurate and plain wrong, and avoiding terminology such as 'powned'; otherwise you're only going to look a bit well, silly

In your opinion yes, in mine I'd take GT5 Prologue over PGR4 any day, and UT3 will be better and bigger than any of the others fps due out this year

I'm sure RPG fans will be glad of Mass Effect as it does look very good.

Everything looks decidedly average or done to death this fall, and can only hope next year brings a new improved lease of life to console gaming
