TigerWoods 2008 demo (XboxLive)

Just to let the golfers know there is a new demo up 790 odd MB.
I'm a big fan of 2007 and reached 20th in the world online.
not sure what to make of this new one yet.
Graphics seems blury and no improvement on last year, however its only a demo and only 3 holes available on TCP boston.
the return of the (optional)3 click system initialy feels awful.
I'm holding off selling 2007 until my 2008 copy arrives thursday.

id imagine it would be great fun on the wii, but id just be concerned about the accuracy of the putting, imagine that could get frustrating if the controller isnt sensitive enough.

Had 07 it was an ok game but got boring just sold it to Anydbtsn, Demos is coming down like **** of a stick.

I really enjoyed 07, the achievements were rock hard to get though, i played probably 30-40 hours and only got about 180 points for it.

i didnt think the achievements are all that hard on 07. Think i got about 700 points or so, you only have to complete the career to get the bulk of the points.

just tried this out, looks just as good as 07, no slowdown noticed anywhere, like the option to save any shot now. Also like the option on any saved shoot can be turned into a challenge and posted on EA servers so that others can try to beat and obtain points. Think that option alone adds a ton of extra playability.

The new 3 button click seems way harder now if you choose that option, seems as if the "A" button is not responsive enough or i got real bad timing, although i should be fine as i use 3 click method on pc versions - but thats with a mouse

I was hoping for a Graphical upgrade this year like i have been dreaming of since I bought my 360 and it just didnt happen, again.
infact in the demo the graphics looked a bit out of focus and i had to check my HD settings hadnt reverted to SD.
although every year the graphics dissapoint me the tiger woods games always remain my most played game and I do enjoy it, especialy online.
I think when they stop making this available for the playstation 2 we aint gonna see a big improvement in graphics.
anyhow my copy arrives thursday.

the graphics look sharper to me, the blurred thing is that field of view focus job that everyone seems to be doing.
im glad to see that this is a game using face mapping, r6v tried this but it was pants. not that i like staring at myself but i used to find it more entertaining when the golfer actually looked like me!
was it 04 that had the game face or was that 05?, either way the first gameface was the best, now where is that mirror?!

Just finished playing about with the demo. Doesn't really seem that much different to '07 but I guess that's to be expected from EA. The 3 click thing is a lot handier for hitting the ball at say, 59% power. The game face thing looks pretty cool, but I'm assuming you need the live vision camera for that (which I don't have). I might consider getting it on friday when it's released, but if there's not much difference between it and '07 I don't see the point really.

I meant more from a timescale thing, i played it for yonks in career and didnt get that far.

I own 2007 so I just did a back to back comparison.

2008 is defo a little bit more blurred, you can notice it on the flyover of the holes and the course textures dont seem as sharp.

I think its to do with EA decision to make all its sprts games 60 FPS this year, whilst the frame rate is silky smooth the graphics dont seem quite as nice, I got one in the water and when it got close the water looked horrible on 2008, weird.

Also noticed Madden 2008 whilst really smooth didnt look as good as 2007, I wonder how fifa will look close up, I think the 60 FPS will really make a differnac ewith that one though, with golf I dont think its quite as important, I would rather have more eye candy.

Oh, and what the hell are they doing to poor old tiger, they have been feeding him steroid buttys since the lasst version, he looks like a cartoon charector now.

finally played this last night. im just going to echo what everyone else says really, the ability to change to 3 click during the round is great and i do like the putting preview line.

Ascendancy you dont need the vision camera for face in the game, you can apparently upload a photo onto EAs servers and use that, which im excited about

Is the demo particularly easy - never played a golf game before, but downloaded this last night. After a couple of goes over the three holes to practice, I managed birdie, eagle, par.

Is the demo set to easy,obviously they arent the most difficult of holes, but even with more a difficult course the control system didnt seem particularly difficult to master.
