New Audi RS6 - 610BHP?

Can I recommend lay-z-boy for man of honour this year? :D

It's all very well saying it wont be the driving experience a beamer is; most of us have families and blatting around roundabouts at 80 isn't top priority any more :p
Plus, we're lucky to get a weeksworth of sunshine these days ;/

If all your car is ever used for is transporting the family, why spend £60,000 on an ultra high performance car like this?

An A6......2L TDi :(
Care to explain why?

On the subject of M5 vs. RS6. Sure, the BMW may well be a better car to drive, but in the real world no one's going to notice.

It's simply impossible to push either of the cars to the limit on UK roads. If you were to take both cars to a track then the BMW would probably be labelled as a better drivers car. Fair enough.

However, for driving on the road, what people want is a fast, refined, comfortable, luxurious, classy, well-built, family carrying, cruising machine. That's the RS6.

Besides, the sort of person who's spending this amount of money on a car could probably afford something a little special for the weekends.

In the real world, the Audi RS6 is the better choice. Clarkson once said that for one lap of a track he'd take an M3, but for every other day he'd take an S4.

If you got 60k to burn I imagine you wanna drive in style, family or not :)

She very rarely used the power, decided that the running costs outweighed the power/speed as they were hardly ever used.

The tdi isn't bad, gets me to ocuk and back and can cruise on the mway at around 110...er 70 ;) with some left to go, whilst using considerably less fuel. :)

Fair enough then, the standard A6 is still a great car. ;)

Surely she would have thought about all that before she bought it.

Anyone could tell you that if you were thinking of buying an RS6, you got to way up the running costs / service costs etc first and whether you actually need a car like that.

Anyway, fair play to her. She has owned an RS6, not bad at all. I can only dream of owning one.

Why would you want an R32 *and* an S3? To somebody who can afford a £150k car, an R32 is simply a VW Golf shopping trolley.

I dunno. If you have a thing for hatchbacks then either or would be an awesome choice.

If I were super rich I'd have one just to drive rubbish to the tip, or to use when I need to park in dodgy places like Bromley.

Indeed it was a major factor when first purchased, high cruising speeds were needed for her cross country journeys however after some months after she decided that she had had enough of driving and wanted something easier on the wallet and would no longer do these journeys. The 2 litre does the job.

So you would have an R32 or S3 to park in 'dodgy' places?

Even if you were super rich, its still a bit stupid really is'nt it?

Tommy has the same view of lots of money that I had at 17.

OMG I WOULD BUY LEIK 10 CITROEN XANTIAS!

what? Did I ever say that?

just because you despise hatchbacks it doesn't justify speaking rubbish!
