Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP vs 2407WFP-HC

But I have seen atleast 1 website offering a 0 dead pixel returns policy on the dell WFP2407-HC

if you're talking about where i think you're talking about, they offer a dead pixel check for about £20 on some models, but not sure they do it on all of them any more....i'd never order a screen from somewhere who offered this check if i wasn't paying for the pixel check, or you can be pretty sure you'll end up with one of their "defective" ones

Hi there

The DELL prices are shooting up, hence why the older model has gone up in price, it will also increase further over the next few days.

The HC model has also shot up massively, we can hold our price for another 24 hours but then its going up by nearly £100, so if you want a HC now is the time to buy.

Just got my 2407WFP and all i can saw is WOW! i am so glad i took my 22inch samsung back for this, there is just no compitition.

** DEAD PIXEL GUARANTEE - EXCLUSIVE TO ****** CUSTOMERS **
In the event your monitor has one or more dead / stuck pixels we will arrange to have the unit replaced next business day (call's must be made before 3pm to meet the next day deadline)

Can anyone tell me OCUKs policy on stuck pixels? just got the 2407WFP and its got a stuck red pixel top leftish, i tried putting pressure on it turning it on and off and have had several stuck pixel applications running.
Should i leave it and hope time heals all wounds and dead pixels?

Oh jeez, Exactly what I want to avoid. Hopefully you can replace the screen.

Thats from dell website?

Hmm, i can't find anything referring to a warenty in my box, is it just a matter of calling up dell, telling them what the deal is etc?

EDIT: Apparently 1-5 is acceptable from what i have found on the dell site, is there no special warranty with OCUK for one stuck pixel? or am i stuck with my stuck pixel.

am i stuck with my stuck pixel.
I would try and relax if I was you, you sound like your about to have a fit over a single pixel not behaving?

I think you should run the monitor in for a wee while and see what gives, play some games, watch a DVD etc and enjoy the screen.

If u contact DELL you just need to give them your *Service Tag* from the back of your monitor.

I don't think they will change it for a single pixel though.

True, just you pay so much for the monitor you expect it to be perfect, i will give it a few days and let UDpixel run over night or something like it.
As for dell, it says next business day exchange, so i presume to do this they take your word, bring you a new one and swap it at the door? that way i could say it had 6 stuck or deal pixels and if they tested it well there magically fixed, if worst comes to worst and its not gone after a few days think that would work? i have never had to send anything back to dell so i have no idea how they work.

Yep, the HC is a beauty. Deep blacks, vibrant colours, quick response. Very happy indeed.

TBH the standard 2407WFP gives you all of that. Unless you're a graphics professional I reckon you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the standard and HC.

Re Dell you need to call 0870 908 0500 (ask for the monitor department) as you won't have a service tag, they'll put you through to the Ireland centre, you'll then need the Dell works order from the outer packaging , OCUK details from the packing label and the serial number. They will replace it next day but not for 1 dead pixel unless your supplier offers a dead pixel guarantee ( I bought mine with a guarantee as I could not work with it, I'd spend the whole time looking at the dead pixel and pretending i couldn't see it!!)

i dont think we will see a new 22" or 24" from Dell any time soon. Doubt they'd bother doing an HC edition of the E228WFP, and the 2407WFP-HC is only just out...

Can someone enlight me as to the gaming perfomance of this monitor? Will i notice any clipping?

I have found one for 420 and i believe it is my credit cards duty to be used:D

P.S. Does my 1800XT support 1920x1080?

Thanks for the info, think i could tell them a porky pie saying its got more stuck pixels than it has? because from what it sounds like they just swap it at the door and not checking it. And if they call me up well it magically fixed itself in transit
