Army Ration Packs - Sell by date?

Rat packs are pretty rank to be honest, all so a word of advice from someone who has been there make sure you eat absolutely everything! Half the contents is designed to block you up and the other half to relieve you so if you don't eat a good mix of everything you will either be going to the loo a lot or not going at all neither of which is good.

Brown biscuits = cork.

Fudge bar = removing the cork.

We had a guy who was a chocaholic, so we used to let him have ours. We were so kind :D

first time i went to the states FHM overthere had a comparsion of ration packs.

British ones came off by far the worst :(

As for the calories it's only all wrong if you use the whole lot in a day. That would be 3 meals, dessert, all the buscuits, chocolate, pate, sweets and possibly even the toiletpaper/tissues!

you should eat the whole thing to avaoid potential problems with going/ not going to the loo etc!

And now they don't taste nice I have had the 'pleasure' of living off them for a few days at a time once or twice and they are nasty. The boil in the bag ones are admitedly loads better than the ealier dehydrated ones but still disgusting!

And I have never had any trouble with my daily waste evacuation through using ration packs in any combination.

You must truly have guts of steel, it is well documented and acknowledge that rat pacs can cause toilet problems. Why do you think it's says in big letters in the docmentation eat everything!

If you can source them, the current US Army MRE's are bloody tasty. Especially the Cajun rice & Bangers, Meatloaf in Gravy and Spicy Pasta!

I quite like most of the stuff in the rat packs although any of the custard desserts can be a bit rough and ive never had many toilet problems when eatting them in weird and wonderful combos
