What would the 1080 likely be in UKP £££ ?

The same bracket as the 980 is now? Or the 980ti?

Must admit I am not happy AT ALL if the 1070 beats the 980ti for the resale value.

Even worse for titan x owners.

General consensus is about £500.

Ergh well there is no chance I am ebaying a 980ti for less than 1070 value and then getting a 1080 for original 980ti amount. How annoying, real kick in the teeth for anyone who bought a 980ti.

Sort of makes getting the 1080ti pointless as well because you know that in a year they will release an 1170 that beats the 1080ti at 1/2 the amount.

Maybe I will wait for the 1180, but then we know that I won't because I do not want to have crappy performance for another 2 years while I wait for it.

Ergh graphics cards..

The 980ti was not reelased long ago, I am completely fine with the 1080 beating the 980ti, but if a 1070 beats 980ti then that just completely destroyed the resale value of the 980ti just over a year after release.

Why should NVIDIA care about resale value? They got to the market first with their new tech cards and will want to get as much of market as possible before AMD release.

Well clearly they don't and have no reason to... but I do

At least the 780ti was still a fair bit better than a 970 at the time and the 980 was only marginally better.

Will probably just keep the 980ti and wait for the 1080ti then if the situation is as my post above.

I guess that volta will not be such a massive jump, as it will still be on 14nm(or will volta be 10nm?) either way still less of a jump than 28-14nm.

I bet the 1080ti will be an absolute beast, or at least potentially could be unless they limit the performance of it.

If this is with 2560 cores and GDDR5x, what about 3560-4096 cores with HBM 2... that will destroy 3440x1440 lol.

With DP1.3/1.4 is adaptive sync a compulsory component or is it still optional like it was in DP1.2 ?

Many thanks.

I'm confused, is the 1080 (and maybe 1070) performance a bad thing?
Did we really wait all this time and get this excited about a die-shrink in the hopes that the performance gains would be the same as the previous generations?

People aren't happy that the 1070 may beat the 980Ti, but I'm sure if the 1080Ti beat the 980Ti by 10% people would complain about the lack of progress.
If they just released the 1080 with a price tag hgiher than the 980Ti people would complain about prices and how much the 1080Ti and new Titan would be...

What exactly were we hoping for?
