Hello I have just ordered the: Acer Predator X34A 34" 3440x1440 IPS G-SYNC WideScreen Super-Wide ZeroFrame Curved LED Monitor

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...e-zeroframe-curved-led-monitor-mo-109-ac.html

Ive watched some videos and reviews and what Ive heard some people talking about is installing new/drivers

I understand about Graphics card drivers for example but I had no idea about monitor drivers...

When I get this in the post will i have to install new/drivers for the monitor? and if so will I just navigate to the acer website and look for the correct model/ID drivers and install as I would normally for my graphics card as an example?

Thank you

Congrats on this purchase, I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to have a screen like this.

Let us jealous individuals know how it goes and what it takes to get it running right. Just post updates in here.

Congrats on the purchase.
I'm doing a £2.5k upgrade in the next 4 weeks, still deciding on this or the Asus!

why did you choice this one over the Asus 34"?? Looking at getting one myself but in two mind which would be better??

I got mine the other day. First one had a piece of dirt inside the screen so had to return it. It was otherwise perfect.
Second one has been perfect so far. No pixel issues, no dirt, overclocks to 100Hz, no coil whine under normal use. Love it :D

Welcome to the club, you shouldn't have to install a driver for the monitor, Windows will do it for you.

lol thanks guys... however I am a little bit nervous... ive read some bad points about this monitor mainly about the screen bleeding.... I hope mine does not do that.

I should receive this on Monday. But my new PC wont be here for maybe at least a week. So I can only test my xbox one on it for now lol

Every lcd panel will have some bleed so expect to have a bit in the corners. Otherwise I believe you'll be disappointed due to high expectations.
It's an amazing piece of kit but does have small issues just like any cutting edge technology.

Nice purchase. This is the best monitor I have ever owned and the best PC related buy I've made in years. I was reluctant to move away from Dell, with whom I've favoured for years, but I am so glad I did. Games are so much more enjoyable with the extra field of view

I'm currently torn between splashing out on this or picking up a standard swift. One the one hand I see it as worthwhile as a monitor will last you several generations of PC, yet it's still a huge chunk to spend for a monitor.

If you have the cash available and it's not going to cause any financial hardships I would definitely say it's worth it , I think in general and I include myself in this (although recently enlightened) most people don't seem to realise the importance of a display, we spend a ridiculous amount of money on a PC, half a grand or more on a GPU etc, and then push it through an old 24" 1080p panel at 60 hertz, a monitor is a window into the world of your PC, everything you experience is done through your display, so I think it's important you get the best one that you can reasonably afford, with regards to the x34 though which I own, In my honest opinion the most important feature on a new monitor atm is higher refresh rate, that is more important than 21:9 aspect ratio from my experience, I could never go back to a 60 hertz panel.

Testing it out, PC has not yet arrived so I tried Xbox one on it. Shame Xbox One does not support 21:9 lol

Linked my laptop VIA HDMI, I set the display to 3440x1440, it looked really good but a tiny bit pixelated. However my laptop Graphics card is only a Geforce 880M. Not sure if it even supports 3440x1440
