Poll: Any coil whine on your 1080 or 1070?

Never any coil whine with all my GPU's spanning back too 2005. Must be lucky i guess.

My zotac amp extreme 1070 is perfect, no whine at all!!!!!

EVGA FTW 1070 No coil whine at all. Also has no VRM pads and memory pads that dont touch either it seems

PNY 1080 Founders had a bit of whine on an AX760

EVGA 1080 SC has really bad coil whine on a AX760 and G2 650W.

2nd EVGA 1080 has really really bad coil whine on a AX760 and G2 650W.

Old Asus Titan has no coil whine on my AX760 or G2 650W.

Fortunately EVGA classify coil whine as a fault so I'm going to keep trying cards until I get a good one.

Seasonic 860w Platinum with Palit Dual 1070 - barely even know the GPU is in there both from minimal fan noise and no coil whine.

Similarish to mine, same graphics card and a 750W Seasonic PSU.

No coil whine.

My msi 1070 armor oc had coil whine before i sold it but it was not that bad. But it didnt to begin with so i dont know what happened

1080 Strix arrived today and there is coil whine under load. I will be RMAing it. First card I have owned with coil whine. My 980 Strix was quiet as a mouse in that respect as have been previous AMD cards I have owned.

No coil whine for me thankfully , but I did have to RMA my 1070 G1 due to fan vibrations about a month ago..now using an MSI 1070...cant even hear it

No coil whine on my evga 1070 sc before i sent it back due to poor vrm cooling.

Now got a zotac amp and no coil whine on this either.

Psu is a 650w evga G2.

Gigabyte g1 1070 here, I had zero coil whine then played some grim fandango last night now all I hear is whine! Grrr

Sounds like bad CS.

Didn't they suggest upgrading your power supply ?

Was there a clear warning either on the card's packaging or by the retailer that coil whine is not a fault and if the card is noisy it can't be repaired or replaced ?

more or less got told its not a fault and doesnt affect performance there isnt a lot i can go as for upgrading the power supply i already own a Corsair HX1000i. i cant really be spending more than i already did for that.

IMO coil whine is usually caused by gaming without vsync on & pushing the card too far clockspeed wise & or using an inferior PSU. Over time all PSU's degrade & massive overclocks on CPU+GPU puts additional strain on the entire system causing the PSU to work much harder.
