NVIDIA Colours

I never noticed a difference between AMD and nvidia colours. The only time it was clearly different was when I bought I encountered the limted dynamic range issue. That was easily fixed. You just change it to full rather than limited.

I think most people who claim there is a difference are either suffering from placebo or have not corrected the limited dynamic range issue.

Perhaps like you and others are insisting there isn't, maybe some just have better eyesight and can tell a difference.:)

Imo, AMD is more vivid, but as said before and every other time the dull Nv colour topic comes up, it's as simple as:

I recently had to have a medical at work and as I sit 200ft in the air lifting containers, one of the most vigorous tests is eyesight and I passed with perfect 20/20 vision. I might be losing my memory but my eyesight is just fine :)

That's because DisplayPort on both AMD and Nvidia uses Full RGB as default ;)

HDMI and DVI is a different story and even if the RGB range is set to full RGB on both colour can still be different depending on colour temp etc both brands choice is for default.

Its been years since I owned an Nvidia GPU so am not in the correct position to compare either on this front.

edit

This debate will never be ended
We all have are own taste in what is the correct colour, brightness/backlight everything
Hell some people even like to keep the shop floor presets on TVs for god sake LOL

Not sure why you winked but yer, I know lol and being someone who has swapped about quite a bit recently and even really looked for this difference in colour, I honestly couldn't see it but that's just my POV.

Please don't use Youtube as a basis for comparing IQ.

In terms of colours and brightness its a fine comparisons. Shows the default presets fine! Its very clear the 970 brightness is set to limited

The only thing Youtube will change is the overall image quality bitrate etc vs the raw detail.

When i was on DVI and swapping between AMD and Nvidia, the colours always looked washed out on the Nvidias, but once id upped the Digital Vibrance a bit, they looked identical, different cards, different default settings, so can't see what the fuss is about :p

Why not for comparing colors. Assuming the same recording and PC was used i see no reason not to for colors.

Because you lose so much from encoding, it just isn't a good means for testing but if you insist, here is a Fury X against a Titan X )Maxwell) that I tested and just used the default for both.

Any difference?

Again you used DisplayPort LOL I have told you they both use Full RGB

HDMI and DVI both use different Ranges and colour temp reason people are seeing different colours and image quality.. Can you set both to look the same yes, do they both look different out of the box YES!

Most youtube captures are straight framebuffer scrapes - you need to capture the actual video output at the port to truly compare.

FuryX looks more blury on that one :D

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D :D

Genuinely, I could never see a difference between the 2 but things might have changed over time and it was different many years ago but I never had the cash or time to keep swapping about back then with youngsters who owned horses :(
