NVIDIA Colours

If you settling for what it looks like out of the box, you probably don't care enough to be worried about it.

TBF my RX 480 displayed a rainbow overlay effect the other day. :/
So AMD is definitely more colourful.

I just hope the memory isn't faulty.

I've a friend who is into graphics stuff that has done a couple of my monitors and I do the rest by eye using them as a reference - which gets it close enough as I care.

My sister in law works for Hughes and she sent one of her colleagues round to do mine. Quite surprising what a difference it makes.

now that im on my computer i decided to check mine. i have a gtx 970. using displayport cable and mine is set to limited. changed it to full now. will look at the game i have been playing and see if i can tell difference.

EDIT - done it and checked my game. i seem to think the game looks better but i cant say for sure. placebo. maybe.

I wonder how many people calibrate their monitors/TV with a proper calibration tool such as a Spyder 5 etc?

I did. Made a noticeable difference.

They used to be one on here which went from person to person which was great.

Ended up buying my own in the sales.

Worth it IMO.

I am surprised not many people here have a calibration device. It really does make a difference. Spending all that money on a monitor and graphics card, might as well spend another £100 and get yourself a decent calibration device.

I used to have a Spyder 4, then sold that and went colourmunki display which works very nicely with displaycal. Plus it is fun to do it and run a report after to see the results. I tend to run it once or twice a year myself :)

hmm, interesting, never done this calibration before but hey, now I am going to get such a device and do it. Thanks for the tip guys.

I did notice some slight difference, I found in a game like battlefield, outdoors in the open amd looked better and indoor dark areas nvidia looked better but so little difference it was nothing worth getting excited about

OP

Go into Nvidia control settings, monitor settings. Change from limited to full RGB. A lot of monitors default to limited and it makes it washed out, Full RGB will fix this for you.
