The Pascal Titan X and XP Owners Thread

If anything that should put people off NVidia, there's no reason for that to be locked down anyway and it's a kick in the teeth for quadro buyers.

that's such a simplistic way of looking at things ... It's not a kick in the teeth for anyone unless it's for people who try to find faults everywhere. That's pretty much what that is.

Oh my god, you added a feature that my card has to this other card! It's clearly affecting me, it's not like my card has anything else going for it!

How's it simplistic? The feature could have been enabled since release but because AMD are releasing cards NVidia feel the need to start enabling features that are locked for no reason other than greed.

There's no doubt people out there who've went for Quadro cards for Maya that could have carried their work out just as well if the Titan had that function enabled for way less money, you can even install Quadro drivers on Geforce GPU's if you want stability rather than gaming performance.

"Unlocking 3 x more performance" that should have been done from the get go, I wonder how many other parts/features of the GeForce family they leave disabled until they see a real need for it.
Titan cards aren't advertised for use in professional applications, so no, there was never a need to unlock that performance.

AMD are just as guilty if you think this is a problem, none of the consumer AMD GPUs have the professional optimizations enabled.

Not really, You buy Quadro for the support and thoroughly tested drivers, In general minus the extra memory, Quadro cards are identical to their GeForce counterparts.

+1. Those wanting quadro's for £7k are not going to be put off by this update on the titan. The titan never really was a professional card for these type of workloads. Its capable of it sure.
But like as stated those wanting the cards for professional workloads would buy a quadro for what its designed for and its extra features, memory, drivers and support.

As I said, if you think there is an issue here then AMD are just as guilty, if not worse at th moment. The Titan was never advertised for professional work so such optimizations were never required, Nvidia now offer pro optimizations for a consumer card. AMD have never offered Pro-software optimization on consumer cards, and they still don't. The only GPUS AMD enable the optimization is the FirePro cards, and the Vega FE, but not the Vega RX

It's not just me who thinks it's an issue, the timing alone says it all and many "professionals" in the sector can see what they're doing a mile off. If the Titan isn't advertised as a professional card then just leave those functions disabled instead of pretending it can be one now, seems to me they're advertising it as a professional card now?

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Pascal Titan X.

Nothing Epic but i dont have glass side panel anyway. Just Made it for chap that sold Titanic to me from my Polish forums

I left 3d mark extreme running for 9 hours on loop overnight. Maxed out temps 48c on gpu 69 cpu. Good enough it does +200 on gpu and + 725 memory. Tried lower memory oc but in my case does not give me gains.

**** I'm happy for what i paid for it and how WoW in 3d Runs. First card that can pull off 60fps in 3d in raids :D

some benchmarks
