Edit.
I wouldn’t do it for £5000 a month. Having some stranger be a burden on your life? No thanks.
thats just not the case, Shuttle wasn't a success but that is far from the only thing nasa does, its also far from the shuttle was a financial black hole. it still advanced many technologies and still added to the economy, it just never became the cheap access to space truck it was envisioned as.Maybe in the 60's and 70's but I haven't seen any recent evidence for that. Do you have it? I have heard them say many times what apollo made but I also read a book that said how the Shuttle wasn't a success financially at all.
If they gained politically from doing so, then ofc they would.
This is a thread about NHS hospital beds, not foreign aid or Pakistani budgeting, take your prejudices elsewhere if you don't want to keep this on topic. Make your own thread if you feel the need.
So the money we spend on wealthy foreign countries has zero bearing on the lack of funds available to the UK? Would like to explain this?
It's not so much that the quality of care is decreasing, it's that the number of people requiring treatment is forever on the increase. Not too mention that the very nature of medical science constantly progresses and treatments become ever more expensive. Then there's the fact that NHS staff just aren't paid enough. Even admin staff are leaving to go work at private GP's and the like. There's just so many factors to take into account.
No matter how much money the NHS get's, it will never be enough.
Oh I see, lets just build some hospitals then if we need them, whats the problem? To put it simply, we don't spend what we have available, we spend what we feel we need to. The governments funds and budget is not the same as your wallet and shopping list...
Why is this difficult to understand?
And people want to let in millions of refugees. That'll be sure to ease the burden on the already struggling health service.
Oh I see, lets just build some hospitals then if we need them, whats the problem?
As for resources in terms of money, it can make its current budget stretch much further if it was ran differently. If you want to continue running it as it is being run now, then obviously you need to throw more money at it to make it better, but that isn't a solution, its stupid to just throw money at something until it works. .
You mean like given billions to despots in corrupt foreign countries and expecting things to change?
As said before, we give billions for political reasons. We wouldn't keep giving if we weren't getting something out of it?
You are hopeless and your argument is long tired. I am bring up relevant points on the NHS and you cant stop going on about foreign stuff.
There is another world warAll those extra people, living longer, staying healthy. Sounds like a fiscal nightmare. If only there were a solution to this problem.
NHS trialling Airbnb-style stays in people's spare rooms for patients recovering from operations.
.
why do you doubt that - if these people lived with a partner then they'd not need this and yet most people's partner's aren't medically qualified etc..
these can literally be things like someone can't use stairs for a couple of weeks etc..
I'm not sure you need any qualifications to heat up 3 microwave meals a day
ok I agree, but why can't just give less, spending the money saved on the NHS infrastructure and staffing? Do you have an answer?
Don't think this generation could handle a 'hot' war. There is another world war
