Really enjoying this so far. People are comparing it to Overwatch, but I found Overwatch too boring for my taste. Wraith is my favourite role.

Overwatch is kind of the fisher price version of this. The duplo compared to Lego, the lol compared to dota

I haven't played this since alpha but the bit I played there was definer not fun than overwatch. I find the low skill ceiling on overwatch to be incredibly offputting

Yeah they def took the training wheels off for this. There's no 'hard counters and rock, paper, scissors. It's a purely skill based game. A great player can carry a team etc.
At the same time, being in a lobby against a group of vastly superior players is extremely demoralizing!

I've never played Overwatch. What is it like compared to Quake Champions for gameplay speed, twitch reactions?

Nothing like it. There's a couple of heroes that play fast in OW, and a couple that rely on twitch reactions. I wouldn't even say any that are both. And then a lot that don't even require aim.

Boss Key Productions first game has seen a very low player base with just an average number of players at just 45 in the last 30 days according to SteamCharts.

To help increase the number of players the studio will make the game free to play this weekend on Steam starting on November 9 at 6pm GMT / 1pm ET / 10am PT and ending on November 12 at 9pm GMT / 4pm ET / 1pm PT.
