Vega needs to be £450 to a be a success. AMD has Vega strategy all wrong.
It's a much better deal to buy a 1080.
Vega 56 should be £299 and Vega 64 should be £399, currently it is vastly over priced.

Problem is Vega 56 is already selling out due to mining, lowering the price at this point would do nothing but lower AMD's revenue.Vega 56 should be £299 and Vega 64 should be £399, currently it is vastly over priced.
Sold my Fury X for £320 then bought a vega 56 for £380 from Overclockers first batch, then used an eiswolf liquid cooler and a LC bios so its now running like a £699 water cooler vega.Problem is Vega 56 is already selling out due to mining, lowering the price at this point would do nothing but lower AMD's revenue.
If they could get the V64 down to £400 that would be amazing as it would basically kill off any 1070ti/1080 demand except for die hard fanboys or the super naive, but then you're in the situation where the V64 is now so cheap that it's a miners dream too.
What power supply?
Reseat Card
Connect two separate 8 pins from PSU to GPU
DDU to completely wipe out any existing drivres
New windows installation (download fully up to date version from Mircrosoft to save time updating)
Custom drivers install > clean install
Try in another system with a 700W+ GPU, if still not working, RMA
If they hit those prices, Vega would be seen in a different light entirely.
You will get those prices if Sterling goes to 2 dollars to the pound, the problem with considering any discussion on price is sterling went down in value over the years. If it goes back people will be impressed perhaps but its an external influence. I dont think UK really set the prices here and anyway AMD isnt making the cards now, its down to 3rd parties so the medium term will see it rise in price. I guess there is no other Vega coming out to change thatVega 56 should be £299 and Vega 64 should be £399, currently it is vastly over priced.
Do you guys think its worth getting ryzen 1700x or 1600x maybe to replace my 4690k? Not much point to use vega if my cpu will bottleneck it and wonder if ryzen is futureproof.
I noticed AB and GPU-z seemed to record the same fan speed in rpm, but disagree on the % (GPU-z thinks it is lower)Just popped AB on, so i can see my clocks, temps etc..., and ran through the Last Light bench, core was anywhere from 1570 to 1600+, temp was only around 65, with a fan speed of only 52%.

I should probably tweak mine to get it running a bit leaner, I just can't be bothered with the faff at the minute, especially with everyone saying about how WattMan/WattMatt loses their settings from time to time.

1025mv is better then I can do I think, I'll try again now. The card is ideal at that level.Got my card running 1600 in wattman at 1025mv. This really allows me to keep the fan in check. Using frame rate limiter in AB and for for older games I really can't hear the card over my normal case fans etc.
