Apollo 1 computer cost millions - even back in the day. And it ran at a whopping 2MHz! I couldn't afford that kind of state-of-the-art.
To quote: "The [Apollo 1] computer's performance was comparable to the first generation of home computers from the late 1970s, such as the Apple II, TRS-80, and Commodore PET"
That's the kind of computing power we eventually got in affordable computers in the UK in the early '80s - so you weren't far off.
But why? The Wraith cooler is good enough and you do not need anything bigger, except if you have the 3900X.
The AMD cooler is superb, not the cheap crap.

Just because it gets the job done for the most part doesn't make it superb....
Because the alternative coolers provide even better cooling performance and are much quieter. And, like the Snowman, can be bought very cheaply. Win-win.
Sure if you want to use better cooler
Yes we stock them, but they are not for sale to consumers, we use them for system builds.
The saving is only around £10, no box and only 1yr warranty.
Get them listed, or let me buy you lunch and have a dig through them one afternoon.
There is not even a need to sell the cooler in my opinion (at least for the 6 core X model).
The cooler on my 2600X is more then adequate. The chip runs cooler with the AMD cooler, than my intel chip does with after market cooler.
Yes my local shop has OEM AMD chips in stock.
That Duron 800mhz guaranteed to 1ghz was the cpu i used in the first pc i ever built.
Have AMD ever sold tray chips to the general public?
Ryzen 3000 series?
Amd sell them to retailer(system builders). The retailer makes the choice to sell them on or not.
Unless amd stipulate thay must be sold in a system and not as oem??
Who's buying these second hand coolers then.
Just buy retail and sell the cooler?
What’s the point when you can sell the cooler for more than the price difference and get a full retail box and warranty?
What second hand coolers?
