Yes in the US I used the original 32:9 49" in the store for quite a while and wasn't impressed. Human vision is approximately 200 deg wide by 120 deg tall. Or about 1.6:1. To me 32:1 looked extremely un-immersive, having such a tiny vertical viewing area hardly taking up ant of your vertical view. Like looking through a window blind out into the world.

A lot of people don't realize with a crazy wide aspect ratio like 32:9 and limited vertical, characters, anything with detail will look smaller in the center of the screen since it's essentially just a 27" 1440p monitor with 50% wings tacked on either side. 27" 1440p is anything but immersive.

What do you mean by saying 'un-immersive'?

32:9 48.8" panel will give you about the same height and the same vertical FoV as 43:18 34" panel, but bigger horizontal FoV.

The CRG9 is exactly two 1440p 27" monitors "melded" together. The center portion of the CRG9 will have exactly the same detail/size of on screen characters/HUD etc as a single 27" 1440p monitor. IE: not very immersive. (actually could be less than the single 27" 1440p as most people would probably push the CRG9 back a little further). 99% of looking/vision will be on the center 50% of the monitor. The 2x50% (one on either end) is just used for peripheral vision.

Just adding more and more horizontal width and not vertical doesn't automatically mean it's superior. Take example a 7680x1080p monitor, who the heck would what that?

Does anyone know what type of screen coating this monitor has? I'm hoping it doesn't have the aggressive anti-glare coating my PG278Q's do, I find it to be very annoying. I'm assuming it isn't glossy?

You tried one and didn't like it. Thats enough, don't worry :)

Mine arrived today and its a game changer. Couldn't go back to 21:9. Trialled it on a few friends too and they were all amazed. But everyone has different tastes and as you said, you tried it and didn't like it. Not really much more to it.
