The video and content need to be recorded/rendered with HDR to view HDR.

Yeah,

Just be nice to see what they get max settings.

My gtx 1080 at 1440p with everything maxed (ultra/insane) and hdr on and minimum framerate off.

using in game bench
Average framerate is 49.5
average minimum bottom 40.4

Same as above ( all ultra 1440p hdr on) without insane
Average 56.9
Average mins 47.3.

Can anyone with 5700xt run same bench for me with hdr?

Joker's benchmarks are so far off from everyone else lol.
It's pretty obvious that no, the AMD cards aren't performing better than expected in this game and yes Nvidia are still dominating.

Computer Base had done benchmarked Gears 5, if it is first true Navi optimised game then it is very poorly optimised for AMD cards as Nvidia Turing RTX 2070 SUPER is faster than Radeon VII and RX 5700 XT.

That's disappointing,

Kind of looking for excuse to switch over to AMD 5700xt from my GTX 1080 as I now have freesync screen but 10% increase in fps just isn't going to be justifiable.

Is there any HDR benchmarks anywhere for this game on the amd cards?

I havent watched the vids but looking at the chart it looks like some downscaling is going on. Because the lower cards should have lower mins.

It's easy to miss the downscale setting because the description is in small letters.

HDR on a 1080 takes a much bigger hit than AMD cards or it did. When i seen it tested a 1080 took around a 10% hit compared to Vega 64 1-2%. The new turing cards rectified this i think.

Thanks

Thanks, I had seen that before but forgot how much difference it was, some of them are 20% loss on my card.

Probably is worth the switch over then as most my games have hdr and plus I want the freesync. I guess I wait for price drop on these 5700xt's.

I do not understand how someone can say this is Navi optimized game. Nobody said that except the OP.

Is a game primarily optimized for Xbox and especially Xbox One X 4K 60fps target. I won't be surprised running relative faster on Vega 64 & Polaris than the 5700s than the other games.

----------------------
I will install it over the weekend and report how it performs on the 5700XT AE & 3900X

Ultra not quite hitting 4k/60fps on mine:

I will simply set the min and max frames to 60fps and it will be fine

Is your 2080ti stock? The benchmark gets 66fps for me (15% more than yours), but my 2080ti is overclocked to 2130mhz, stock memory though at 7000mhz.

Your CPU could be a bottleneck here.

I know the game is GPU bound, but your CPU is underpowered.

(Or maybe not actually. I just looked at the benchmarks posted above. But then, also the 1080 in the benchmarks is also pulling more fps than you are. So something isn't adding up.)

Mine is HDR bench. I can run standard if you want?
