ASRock RX 5700 XT Taichi Review

Or on planet earth (a place you might want to visit once in a while) the designs for the 5 series were already done and there was no way they could implement ray tracing support until further down the line on another product.

You make all this sound so simple, most of your posts come off like amd should be able to pull titan rtx killers out of their ass on a whim. If it was so simple I'm pretty sure they would have done it by now.
Hahahahaha :D

nvidia's RTX series are already a year-old. Their development started several years prior to that. Microsoft knew.... Don't tell me that AMD didn't know that nvidia was working on RTX.

You ignore the fact that the next Flight Sim would support ray tracing on the upcoming Xbox......
And thats Microsofts words.

I don't care, even less so I believe nor I have stated anywhere that AMD should/would/will take the performance crown back.

I think AMD could quite easily produce an RTX Titan killer now they have 7nm available.

The RTX Titan has two disadvantages.

1. It is on 12nm.

2. It is saddled with all the extra silicon needed for Ray Tracing and DLSS.

If AMD produce a high end card on 7nm without Ray Tracing it will be fast.

Having said that it would be a pointless exercise as AMD are better off keeping their resources where they are now to maximise income.

They have 7nm available but we've no idea how long it will be before a card of that type would materialise. The way 4k8k talks amd should be able to magically pull cards and cpu's with unrivaled performance out of their asses in 5 minutes

I don't think there is that much money in it for NVidia to produce the RTX Titan and it is only worthwhile to produce them as they have a full range of other cards already.

It would be silly for AMD to produce a very high end card until they are in a position where they have got the rest of the market price points covered first.

I think the 7nm AMD cards will continue to evolve/improve and the 5700(XT) cards are a very good first effort.

I used to think that the Ryzen CPUs were a little disappointing but the way they have evolved has made me totally change my view and now it is Intels products that are very disappointing, lets hope AMD can do the same with Navi.:)

I do hope to see more reviews on this card.
Shame there haven't been more by now.
Edit
I spoke too soon. Here you go:

And here it is folks, why the Tiachi costs more IMO:

10-1 phase power in action here. A striaght line for voltage and almost striaght line for clock rates. However, the heatsink isn't a good as the Nitro+. You still need a higher fan speed and still have higher temps then the Nitro+.

Tiachi is awful on temps and fan noise. red devil seems the best buy.
The RD is a nice card indeed. And it too has a 10-1 power phase if memory serves me correctly. However, I've not seen the RD do 930MHz memory while undervolting. UV on the Tiachi only seem to reduce FPS between 1-3 (with 930Mhz on memory) while bring the power/heat inline with the Nitro.

It is the fastest custom RX 5700 XT yet seen:

@4K8KW10
Right, I believe that with a waterblock it will leave the other cards behind in performance.

All signs point to someone making a waterblock for the Nitro (possibly by Bykski) and now EK is making a WB for RD

AsRock need to step up and coordinated with EK for a WB IMO.

Edit:
I was just made aware that they used older drivers to do reviews.

It won't, unless 5% performance difference counts. It would need faster memory really, even another 100mhz on core is not gonna do much, as we have seen with reference on water before. HBM Navi would be so interesting to see.

in what scenario? just ran mine 1146mv for the core & 950mhz on the memory on firestrike no problem at all. Memory can go higher if MPT was used.

@EastCoastHandle don't use techpowerup as reference

Everyone has recorded 34db on idle for the the 2070S and they show it at 33db on load.

It's very easy to advise that but would you suggest an alternative with similar large database and structure of "reviews" and performance comparisons since the oldest graphics cards?
An alternative with similar to GPU-Z app for recording the GPUs specifications?

Because there might be no other database doesn't mean the one that exists is correct for reference and comparison.
