It doesn't actually have driver assist plus, it has adaptive cruise without the rest of the driver assist stuff (lane assist etc). I've never seen one with that spec it's certainly unusual.

A very good spot! How very unusual. For some reason I had it in my head that it wasn't available except for with Driver Assistant Plus. However, a brief look of the 2018 brochure shows it was £965 on its own.

Which makes the rareness of it even more odd. I'd figured the £2k cost of the package put people off. But 900 quid on a £40k car...

My 530e was delivered yesterday.

Pretty amazing car really and in surprised at how easy to drive it is. Coming from a 2005 Fiat Panda I was expecting to take a bit of time to acclimate but really was a case of sitting in an going.

One point to look out for is whether the type 2 to type 2 cable is included. I have the three pin mains charger and the bag for the type 2, but not the cable itself...

They don't come supplied with a public charger cable, only a 3 pin granny charger. Incidentally there is a recall out for those chargers so check if it's been replaced.

Given it came with a BMW branded bag for one that seems rather mental. Will see if I can get one through the place I bought it from, otherwise I will order one.

ok the 30e turned out to be a badly prepped dog, dealer didnt see the problem with having 3 different brands of tyre on the one car along with alignment problems so knocked that on the head pretty sharpish.

deposit down on a 520d

see the edit above.

few things missing from my shopping list carplay is going to be a 50/50 if i can add it no active cruise boo. but its got a massive boot and will do 60mpg all day long. not as quick as the 530d i really wanted or even the 30e but as one of the reviews of the G30 touring i read said its 95% of the car you'll ever need or want

Carplay can definitely be added on that one as it has NBTEvo ID6 - it may just need an i-Step update first if you want full screen Carplay - this will be 1-2hrs labour cost at your dealership or an ENET Cable and battery maintainer at home if you're feeling brave to do it yourself (not recommended unless you know what you're doing). It will certainly support split screen Carplay without though.

as stupid as it sounds the car play is a big deal. had it on my 1 series and loved it, found it fantastic especially with waze, digging had suggested that a lot of places can retrofit the aerial if needed so wasnt a deal breaker but what is the NBTEVO? is that i drive 6.0?

Only if it has the Wifi antenna - which looking at the options list on the Autotrader advert it probably doesn't (no enhanced bluetooth listed, no wifi hotspot prep listed, no rear seat entertainment listed - you need one of these three). All isn't lost though, can buy the antenna and retrofit and code, and then get Carplay but won't be via any 'official' means.

Doesn't necessarily have to have one of those options - most NBTEvo units had them regardless - there was only around 5% of Evo units which didn't get them. It still works even without the antenna but your phone will literally have to be on the NBT unit to work and it's not difficult to add especially on the BMW units - the Mini is more of a pain due to the way the Evo unit is mounted behind the circle dash.

I suspect it was more of the ID5s that were missing them out of the 5% as well.

For me, the whole front end of the G30 falls apart without the Icon lights, which is probably on 1% of cars?

Still a great car, just annoying they fitted lights that look quite cheap. :(

I suspect that would be eye-wateringly expensive though!

This is a very nice one, for anyone else looking who doesn't want a Touring: https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202106244188921

Just sums up the market for me - a few grand cheaper than mine was, but mine was 11 months old with 5k on it and that one is basically 4 years old with 50k on it

I don't know how I'm going to get past this irritation as it currently stops me wanting to buy anything. It just all seems such poor value. Things have very much moved on in 5 years.
