anyone upgraded 5800x3d to the 9800x3d?

I'm considering this switch as I aim to get a 5080 at the end of the month, mainly because my 5800X3D/6800XT build would then become a second system for my wife and kids, so I'd be interested to see what sort of performance increase I'd see at 3440x1440.

it's on a racing rig that uses triples with 1440p panels or Varjo Aero VR just wondered if i'd notice any difference?
I just did this a couple weeks ago. I have only been running AMS2 on a Reverb (G1), and haven't noticed a difference.

My 5800X3D was also solid with the Reverb at 90fps though, so I didn't expect a noticable difference in the sim. Desktop is a bit snappier, but that could also be the fresh Windows 10 install I did when I upgraded.

i just dont want to spend £3k+ on both

your 5800x3d will 100% be a bottle neck for a 4080.. so it will 100% be a bigger bottle neck for a 5090

in this case i would do the CPU, its not like on the 1st of feb your GPU will become a total piece of poo just because the new cards come out.
but i will still like into the support of 3D cache on the game, if its not supported you could crab a 9700x.

I just pulled the trigger my upgrade itch was driving me mad  i'm building a totally new system so if it's no faster for me i'll sell it hopefully
I think you should at least have way better minimums , the 5800x3d is 7600x levels if performance along with ddr5 should get more things .

What did you order?

What's that 42% from

TPU has a best case scenario of being an average of 26% faster at 720p Ultra and the gap shrinks to almost nothing up to 4K.

That site rips off real reviewers and posts as their own. They took those numbers from the Techspot/HUB review: https://www.techspot.com/review/2915-amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d/

Unless Techspot/HUB has a partner in pakistan who rebadges their work without credit for some reason.

The numbers are real, the benchmarks are different to TPU even when the games are the same because they use different areas so it's differently real.
